{"id":1186156,"url":"https://alion.io/job/africacentre-org-uk-parssy-program-coordinator","title":"Parssy Program Coordinator","company":{"id":671797,"name":"africacentre.org.uk","domain":"africacentre.org.uk","url":"https://alion.io/company/africacentre","size_band":"51-200","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"BambooHR","truth_index":null},"role":"Administrative","role_family":"Administrative","seniority":"middle","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Edmonton, Canada"],"countries":["CA"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":44000,"max_usd":77000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":124},"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-23T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-23","last_verified_at":"2026-10-01T23:51:17Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":9,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":9},"description":"J\nob Title:\nPARSSY Program Coordinator\nDepartment:\nYouth Programs\nReports to:\nProgram Manager\nJob Summary:\nThe PARSSY Program Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between the Africa Centre and other agencies and institutions, including the school and community organizations, involved in the promotion of restorative practice initiatives that target challenged youth.\nDuties: ·\nDevelop positive relationships with youth participants and conduct individualized needs assessment· \nPrepare detailed progress notes, updates, program evaluations and reports, while monitoring program timeline · \nWork with partner schools, and other community organizations and initiatives to address youth needs· \nAssist in representing youth needs to help collaborators gain a holistic view of youth's emotional, social, and psychological development · \nOutreach and network with other community resources to assist the youth· \nFacilitate youth transition to constructive and meaningful extracurricular activities, such as recreational and culturally relevant activities, that address their needs and individual interests while diverting their focus to beneficial and healthy interactions· \nSupport and advocate for students facing suspension or expulsion\nSupport Black Students Association/Alliances develop leadership skills in planning and executing activities in school and in the community \nFacilitate group intervention through circles, workshops and annual celebrations and events around Black History Month \nFoster healthy and smooth transition to high school through group interventions in select Junior Highs \nBuild and train community leaders to act as Wisdom Keepers and to facilitate restorative circles with youth\nOversee weekly sports and athletic programs within the youth team, which includes program promotion, attendance and evaluation. \nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nCoordinates the day-to-day operations of the program and implements programmatic and administrative services to attain program goals and objectives. \nProvides supervisory support to the program volunteers as needed.\nCoordinates stakeholder meetings between school personnel, youth, and families\nMakes programmatic and administrative recommendations pertaining to the PARSSY program to management. \nRequired Skills/Abilities:\nFamiliarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court, and police activities\nFamiliarity with restorative support and trauma informed care\nGood cultural sensitivity and awareness of African descent youth\nGood organizational skills and administrative abilities\nFlexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including evenings and weekends.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nExcellent observational and listening skills.\nInterpersonal communication and facilitation skills\nEducation and Experience:\nA Bachelor’s degree in the humanities, social work, or a related field required.\nAbility to communicate fluently in both or either French and English will be an added advantage. \nAt least three years of professional experience in the mental health or human services fields required with at least three years at the supervisory level preferred.\nAt least three years’ experience working with at-risk youth.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a private vehicle.\nWorking Conditions\nThis is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. Generally, the work week is Monday to Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
