AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton-per-year capacity for high-strength rebars and allied products.\n\nWe are recruiting to fill the position below:\n\nJob Title: CNC Operator\n\nLocation: Ogijo, Ogun\n\nEmployment Type: Full-time\n\nKey Responsibilities and Duties\n\n Operate CNC machines used in steel fabrication and manufacturing, including CNC Machine, Knoting and Branding Machine, laser cutting, CNC drilling, milling, and turning machines, as applicable.\n\n Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions.\n\n Select the appropriate cutting tools, machine settings, programs, and machining parameters for different steel grades and thicknesses.\n\n Load and secure steel plates, bars, pipes, and other workpieces onto machines using approved handling equipment.\n\n Set machine coordinates, tool offsets, cutting speeds, feed rates, and other required parameters.\n\n Load, verify, and execute CNC programs to manufacture components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.\n\n Monitor machine performance during production and make approved adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.\n\n Inspect finished steel components using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, steel rules, and gauges.\n\n Identify and report dimensional errors, defective products, machine malfunctions, and tool wear.\n\n Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, basic maintenance, and pre-start inspections.\n\n Replace worn cutting tools and consumables in accordance with established procedures.\n\n Follow approved procedures for machine setup, shutdown, tool changes, and material handling.\n\n Maintain production records, machine logs, inspection reports, and material usage records.\n\n Minimize material wastage, scrap, rework, and unnecessary machine downtime.\n\n Comply with company quality procedures, production targets, and occupational health and safety requirements.\n\n Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow lockout/tagout procedures when required.\n\n Coordinate with production supervisors, maintenance technicians, quality control personnel, and other operators to ensure smooth workflow.\n\nQualifications and Requirements\n\n Technical diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.\n\n Practical experience operating CNC machines, preferably in steel manufacturing or metal fabrication.\n\n Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.\n\n Knowledge of CNC machine setup, tooling, machine controls, and machining operations.\n\n Understanding of steel grades, material thicknesses, cutting parameters, and machining tolerances.\n\n Ability to use precision measuring instruments and perform basic quality inspections.\n\n Basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.\n\n Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe material-handling practices.\n\n Ability to work shifts, meet production deadlines, and work effectively within a team.\n\nApplication Closing
