Our teams support a wide range of renewable energy and power projects across Southeast Asia and internationally.\nAs our renewable energy business continues to grow, we are looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer - Wind, Solar & BESS Projects to join our team in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.\nApplicants must have practical experience in the design and/or review of wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations. Candidates without relevant WTG foundation experience will not be considered for this position.\n Responsibilities\nYour responsibilities will include civil and structural engineering activities across renewable energy projects, including wind, solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects:\nProvide civil and structural engineering inputs for feasibility studies, technical due diligence assignments, owner's engineering services, and design reviews for renewable energy projects.\nDevelop preliminary civil and structural designs, including wind turbine generator (WTG) foundation concepts and layouts where applicable.\nPrepare technical specifications, design criteria, and Employer's Requirements related to civil and structural works for renewable energy projects.\nAct as Owner's Engineer and review EPC Contractor compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and design requirements.\nReview and comment on EPC Contractor civil and structural deliverables, including drawings, specifications, method statements, and design calculations.\nReview and validate detailed design calculations and drawings for WTG foundations, ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable design codes, and industry best practices.\nParticipate in technical workshops and design review meetings with clients, contractors, equipment suppliers, and project stakeholders.\nProvide technical support during construction, including assessment of design changes, technical queries, non-conformities, and site issues.\nCoordinate with site supervision teams and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve civil and structural design-related matters.\n Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in civil and structural engineering.\nHands-on experience in the design and/or independent review of wind turbine generator foundations is mandatory.\nExperience in renewable energy projects such as wind, solar PV, BESS, power generation, or other energy infrastructure projects.\nGood understanding of reinforced concrete and steel structure design principles, geotechnical interfaces, and foundation design.\nExperience reviewing detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications prepared by EPC contractors or engineering consultants.\nFamiliarity with international design standards and codes such as Eurocodes, ACI, ASCE, IBC, and AISC.\nProficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, or similar software.\nGood command of written and spoken English.\nStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and within multidisciplinary project teams.\n We offer the following to qualified candidates:\nOpportunity to work on high-profile wind, solar and battery energy storage (BESS) projects across the Asia-Pacific region.\nExposure to the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and due diligence through detailed design, construction and operation.\nCollaboration with a diverse team of local and international experts in renewable energy, engineering and sustainability.\nOpportunities for career growth within a global engineering, design and advisory company.\nFlexible and supportive working environment that encourages innovation, teamwork and knowledge sharing.\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with qualifications and experience.\nA chance to contribute directly to the energy transition and the development of a more sustainable future.\nAt AFRY, we engineer change in everything we do.
