Senior Electrical Engineer, Renewable Energy and Thermal Power

In line with our increasing business, AFRY is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer for our renewable energy and gas-fired combined cycle power plant projects.

We are looking for a person with minimum of 7 years work experience from power utilities, independent power producers, equipment suppliers, consultancy or engineering companies.

In consulting and engineering services for renewable energy, thermal power and hydropower plants, we are one of the market leaders.

Scope of work:

The main focus of this position is electrical engineering services both during the development and execution phase of the project, covering conceptual, basic and FEED design, feasibility studies, EPC tendering, and technical due diligences, as well as design review of EPC contractor’s detail design during the execution. The projects in question are both in Indonesia and elsewhere in the SE Asia region.

• Prepare conceptual designs and feasibility studies for the electrical systems of medium to large power plants including gas turbine combined cycle, gas engine, biomass and waste-to-energy plants as well as solar PV and wind farm projects , as well as transmission lines and substations;
• Electrical engineer role in lenders technical advisory projects and technical due diligences;
• Prepare electrical technical specifications for inclusion in EPC tender documents;
• Undertake bid evaluations and negotiations on behalf of the client for projects leading to EPC contract award;
• Basic and FEED design for power plant projects
• Design review of power plant electrical systems in both thermal and renewable energy projects
• Conduct meetings and prepare minutes of meeting.

Much of the work involves writing reports in English language, so very good English language skill is a must. The position is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The job includes projects throughout the South-East Asia region and occasional trips to other SEA countries, so willingness to travel on short-term assignments is expected.

The qualifications and requirements for the position are:

Professional:

• Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Electrical engineering with particular focus on power engineering.
• Minimum of seven years professional experience from power sector
• Knowledge of Indonesian Grid Code;
• Strong analytical capability, leadership skills and self-motivated;
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
• Have good inter-personal skills and a proven ability to work alongside colleagues of other disciplines;
• Fluency in written and spoken English and in Bahasa Indonesia.
