Must supply your own basic tools!\nWhy Work for AFW?\nTool allowance\n\nWide variety of well-maintained vehicles and equipment\n\nClearly defined promotional opportunities\n\nProfessional shop environment\n\nIn-shop lifts\n\nEnvironmentally controlled garages\n\nState-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment\n\nShop-provided diagnostic tools\n\nJob Responsibilities & Duties\nTypical duties include but are not limited to:\nCommitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.\n\nDetermines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.\n\nKeeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.\n\nCorrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.\n\nVerifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives - adjusting controls and systems.\n\nComplies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.\n\nMaintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.\n\nMaintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.\n\nKeeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.\n\nContains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.\n\nKeeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.\n\nUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.\n\nEnhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.\n\nAbility to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.\n\nMust possess great time management and organizational skills.\n\nProfessional with good communication skills.\n\nDemonstrates high level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nJob Requirements\nMust own your own tools.\n\nProficient with Fleet Management Software and Fuel Management Systems\n\nComputer skills operating windows-based programs\n\nPositive attitude with strong inter-personal skills\n\nHave a flexible schedule and work all shifts. Which may include holidays and weekends.\n\nCoordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed expectations.\n\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\n\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\n\nEducation & Experience:\nHigh school diploma or GED is preferred; degree in automotive or diesel repair preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.\nCompensation\nPay rate: Starting between $20-32! Depending on experience and education\nPhysical Demands\nRequires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.\n\nRequires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours a day.\n\nRequires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.\n\nAbility to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50-100lbs.\n\nAble to work shifts that are 8-12 hours long.\n\nAbility to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.\n\nAble to work in various weather conditions.
