The Fleet Safety Coordinator will be able to travel to accident scenes to conduct an accident investigation.\nCDL required for job\nJob Responsibilities & Duties\nTypical duties include but are not limited to:\nCommitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.\nAvailable to all delivery/OTR Personnel who may have questions or concerns.\nInspects daily VIR’s and ensures a VIR is completed for each truck daily by collecting them at the end of each route.\nMonitor Delivery Dept. log books for employees at their location and ensure any log corrections are made when needed.\nKnowledge and experience using appropriate methods to assess driver skills.\nPeriodically follow Delivery or OTR trucks on a rotating basis to monitor and complete observation reports about an employee’s driving behavior, speeds, turn signal usage, courteous driving, intelligent parking locations, spotter usage, etc.\nAppraises employee performance, communicates goals and expectations, provide honest feedback and coaches team members.\nAble to understand and communicate FMCSA regulations.\nAbility to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.\nCommunicates, coordinates, and develops teamwork with the AFW management team.\nReview driver’s infringements arrange re-training when necessary.\nEnsures compliance and communication of applicable state and federal regulations.\nCoordinate with the NON-CDL trainer to schedule necessary training of new employees or further necessary training of an existing employee.\nRandomly pre-trip vehicles to ensure FMCSA compliance.\nStay on top of regional weather conditions and relay the information to the teams.\nImmediately proceed to an accident scene when practical to gather information, investigate, take pictures, and coordinate with the Accident Investigator regarding drug and alcohol testing, post-accident procedures, etc.\nOther duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor. \nAll training will be provided by AFW.\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities\nJob Requirements\nPrevious experience as a Fleet Safety Coordinator/related job or experience working in a deliveries department preferred.\nPositive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.\nMust possess great time management and organizational skills.\nCoordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.\nAbility to maintain a clean and professional appearance.\nAbility to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends. \nAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.\nCapacity to effectively work independently of direct supervision.\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED is preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.\nCompensation\nPay Rate: Starting at $20 - $27 - dependent on experience\nAt AFW we offer great perks: weekly pay, benefits package (medical, dental, vision), 401k matching, and more!\nPhysical Requirements\nCapacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.\nCapability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.\nLifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.\nContinuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.\nAbility to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 50 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 100 lbs. frequently.\nAble to work in variable environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.\n\nWork Environment\nFluorescent Lighting\nConcrete Flooring\nClimate affected by outside conditions\nConsiderable exterior noise\nExtreme temperature fluctuations in the warehouse\nIf you want to know more about American Furniture Warehouse and what we do click on the link below!\nhttps://youtu.be/QjaYn_sn_AM\nAmerican Furniture Warehouse is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
