The Groundskeeper will be responsible for performing ongoing landscaping tasks, as well as routine maintenance of all landscaping equipment. The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and the outside appearance of the facility. If you have experience in landscaping and a strong attention to detail, then AFW is looking for you.\nJob Responsibilities & Duties\nTypical duties include but are not limited to:\nCommitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.\n\nMow the lawns, prune the bushes and trees, edge the walkways and give the grounds a manicured look.\n\nPerform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools.\n\nTake on special landscaping or planting projects as deemed necessary by the AFW management team.\n\nCollaborate with the maintenance team to make sure the grounds and the building are properly cared and clean up to AFW standards.\n\nPlant and care for shrubs, trees, plants, and flowers.\n\nSprays for weeds and insects using chemicals approved by AFW.\n\nReport all acts of vandalism, destruction of property and suspicious behavior to management.\n\nReport all property issues and potential liabilities along with recommendations for solving such issues to the AFW management team.\n\nSpread salt (Colorado Stores), pick up litter, rake and bag leaves.\n\nRepairs fences, gates, walls, and irrigation systems, using carpentry, masonry and painting tools.\n\nMay operate trucks and assorted power equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers (CO), chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.\n\nAbility to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.\n\nMaintain a neat and safe work environment.\n\nAll training provided by AFW.\n\nOther duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor.\n\nThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.\nJob Requirements\nKnowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the ability to safely use personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nKnowledge of fertilizers, insecticides, and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening.\n\nExperience using power tools, pruning tools, and lawn mowers.\n\nPrevious experience as a groundskeeper, gardener, or similar role.\n\nAble to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.\n\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.\nCompensation\nPay Rate: Starting at $18/hour and up - dependent on experience\nAt AFW we offer great perks: weekly pay, benefits package (medical, dental, vision), 401k matching, and more!\nPhysical Requirements\nCapacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.\nCapability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.\nLifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.\nContinuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.\nAbility to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate up to 100 lbs. frequently.\nAble to work in variable environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.\n\nWork Environment\nFluorescent Lighting\nConcrete Flooring\nClimate affected by outside conditions\nConsiderable exterior noise\nExtreme temperature fluctuations in the warehouse\nIf you want to know more about American Furniture Warehouse and what we do click on the link below!\nhttps://youtu.be/QjaYn_sn_AM\nAmerican Furniture Warehouse is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
