Which consists of arranging, constructing, and deconstructing displays to provide an excellent visual presentation of merchandise for our customers. Staging Associates open, assemble, and inspect merchandise prior to physically placing it in the showroom. Tag merchandise with tags that explain the price, merchandise features, SKU, and any other information that help customers learn about our furniture. Additional duties include operating a stock picker and pulling merchandise from the warehouse to the Staging Department.\nAssociates will also pick and pull merchandise, load and unload merchandise to and from other AFW facilities, load out customers in a safe and efficient manner. The job consists of frequently moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing 50-100lbs.\nJob Responsibilities & Duties\nTypical duties include but are not limited to:\nOpen, assemble, and inspect merchandise using hand and power tools.\n\nTag and clean merchandise before placing it on show floor.\n\nUse inventory software to transfer product, changing status of product, etc.\n\nPlace product on show floor with the guidance of the Staging and Visual Design Managers.\n\nAccount various items on show floor for inventory purposes.\n\nEnsure department, show floor, walking lanes, and nearby areas are clean and professional.\n\nUpkeep on price updates and markdowns.\n\nCommunicating with designers about new and old inventory.\n\nAbility to learn furniture and accessories design and styles.\n\nGreet customers promptly and professionally.\n\nWrap, load, and secure merchandise into the customer’s vehicle without damaging the merchandise or the vehicle.\n\nIdentifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.\n\nWill safely operate a forklift to pick orders, pull and put away stock, order processing, loading, and unloading trailers.\n\nConfirm that customer receives correct merchandise.\n\nInspect AFW rental vehicles and fill out the appropriate paperwork.\n\nEnsures the safety of oneself and the safety of all others.\n\nAbide by all company policies and procedures.\n\nAll other duties assigned as directed by management.\n\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nJob Requirements\nPrior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker - preferred but not required.\n\nAbility to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.\n\nAbility to work a flexible schedule that meets the business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays as business dictates.\n\nStrong independent work ethic and creativity.\n\nExcellent organizational skill and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail, and accuracy.\n\nAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.\n\nSense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on AFW’s success.\n\nAbility to prioritize tasks when appropriate.\n\nExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.\n\nAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.\n\nWork as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.\n\nBasic computer skills required\n\nCertificates & Licenses\nDesign, equipment, and/or safety certifications/or licenses preferred.\nEducation & Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.\nCompensation Package\nStarting at $18.50 and up! - Dependent on Experience and Education\n\nAt AFW we offer great perks: weekly pay, benefits package (medical, dental, vision), 401k matching, and more!\n\nPhysical Requirements\nRequires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.\n\nRequires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours a day.\n\nRequires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.\n\nAbility to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 50-100lbs\n\nAble to work shifts that are 8-10 hours long.\n\nAbility to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.\n\nAble to work in various weather conditions.\n\nThe physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.\n\nIf you want to know more about American Furniture Warehouse and what we do click on the link below!\nhttps://youtu.be/QjaYn_sn_AM\nAmerican Furniture Warehouse is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
