If this resonates with you, we invite you to explore the role further and apply.\nJob Summary\nWe are looking for an Upstream Process Development Associate to support the development and optimization of mammalian and/or microbial cell culture processes for GMP manufacturing. This role contributes to process development, technology transfer, and technical problem-solving activities that support client programs and manufacturing operations.\nThe Upstream Process Development Associate works closely with cross-functional teams and clients to design experiments, analyze data, implement new technologies, and advance development programs from laboratory studies through GMP manufacturing.\nAbout the Upstream Process Development Team\nYou will join an Upstream Process Development team focused on developing robust, scalable, and efficient cell culture and fermentation processes for biologics manufacturing. The team partners closely with Manufacturing, MSAT, Analytical Development, and client project teams to support process development, technology transfer, and commercialization activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nExecute bench-scale bioreactor, fermenter, and shake-flask studies to develop and optimize upstream processes.\nSupport experimental design, including Design of Experiments (DoE), and analyze and interpret study results.\nLead or support the transfer and implementation of new technologies and systems into GMP operations.\nSupport equipment acquisition, installation, and implementation activities.\nProvide technical problem-solving support and collaborate with cross-functional teams.\nRepresent Upstream Process Development on client project teams and support project planning and execution.\nPresent technical data and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.\nAuthor protocols, technical reports, and supporting documentation.\nLead or support multiple projects, initiatives, and workstreams with varying levels of complexity.\nSupport technical decision-making in accordance with established processes and procedures.\nSkills\nStrong understanding of mammalian cell culture and/or microbial fermentation processes.\nAbility to analyze data and apply scientific principles to process development challenges.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to communicate complex technical information and recommendations effectively.\nStrong collaboration and relationship-building skills across functions and with clients.\nAbility to support and mentor less-experienced team members.\nQualifications & Experience\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.\nExperience with mammalian or microbial cell culture and associated laboratory techniques.\nPreferred:\nExperience with aseptic cell culture techniques or microbial fermentation.\nKnowledge of large-scale manufacturing operations and technology transfer activities.\nClient-facing experience\nFormalities\nLocation: Bothell, WA\nSchedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week\nCompensation: $83,920 - $115,390\nWe offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that may include annual bonus opportunities, paid time off, medical, dental and vision coverage, parental leave, education assistance, employee referral and recognition programs, and additional wellbeing benefits.
