This role creates value through continuous improvement efforts, increasing reliability, minimizing waste, and compliance with FDA OSHA, and production responsibilities (unassisted after training) according to the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the three production lines: glycerin refining, specialty vegetable oil refining, and continuous vegetable oil refining. Production Engineer individuals will develop a working understanding of the process and be focused on continuous improvement.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nOperate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environments\nAbility to demonstrate a basic and continuously increasing understanding the Glycerin Refining Line 1, or Vegetable Oil Refining Line 2, and the associated utility systems within the processing production areas, including formal testing and evaluation procedures\nHave a thorough understanding of and be able to apply Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to engineering projects and production sites\nHave a thorough understanding of and be able to apply Good Manufacturing Practices and understand how they affect maintenance and production\nPerform duties in accordance with SOPs, Food Safety, and GMP compliance\nAssist with writing and revising controlled documents such as SOPs, MOCs, and all engineering documents\nApply process and equipment knowledge to troubleshoot deficiencies, reduce waste, improve production efficiency and improve product quality\nBe an active member in the OSHA Safety and Food Safety programs \nParticipate in all company trainings\nPerform all other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nA Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Ag Systems Technology, or relevant field\nInterest/experience in food processing plant, biodiesel, ethanol, or manufacturing facility is preferred\nPhysical abilities to include the ability to lift 50 lbs (23 Kg), able to climb several flights of stairs and not affected by heights\nMust have operating knowledge and mechanical aptitude for operating and maintaining pumps, motos, values, heat exchangers, heaters, and other processing or utility equipment\nMust be able to assist in troubleshooting problems and making emergency repairs as needed (including weekends and/or nights)\nAct with humility, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to safety\nAbide by Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the
