Supports network modernization, circuit implementation, and sustainment activities to maintain reliable voice, data, and video communications.\nResponsibilities Include:\nInstall, configure, test, and troubleshoot enterprise network routers, switches, and telecommunications equipment.\nSupport WAN and LAN connectivity across agency facilities and DISN-connected networks.\nAssist with network engineering designs, equipment installation plans, and implementation activities.\nSupport IPv4/IPv6 addressing, routing, switching, and network connectivity troubleshooting.\nConduct site surveys and document infrastructure requirements for new installations and upgrades.\nSupport installation, activation, testing, and troubleshooting of telecommunications circuits.\nPlan and implement network refreshes.\nSupport on call and 24x7 response requirements as part of the network team.\nSupport and sometimes lead technology refreshes, equipment replacements, and network modernization projects.\nPerform network performance testing and validate operational functionality.\nSupport Tier III engineering, troubleshooting, and break-fix activities.\nSupport network configuration management and implementation of approved engineering changes.\nDevelop and update network diagrams, equipment configurations, and installation documentation.\nSupport testing of network equipment in laboratory and production environments.\nApply applicable DISA STIGs and agency network configuration standards.\nCoordinate with agency operations personnel, senior engineers, and telecommunications service providers.\nProvide on-site technical support at CONUS or OCONUS locations as required.\nAnalyze and develop telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and/or wireless services.\nDevelop designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion.\nAnalyze the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported.\nDefine the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications.\nClosely coordinate with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services.\nIn conjunction with functional users, develop alternative solutions and backup plans.\n Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:\n Experience:\nThree (3) years of relevant network engineering experience.\nExperience in telecommunications network design and management.\nExperience in analysis and design of voice networks, LAN and WAN data networks, wireless networks, and/or network management systems to support voice and data services.\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma.\nCitizenship and Clearance:\nUS Citizenship is required.\nTop Secret clearance or Secret clearance with favorably adjudicated Tier 5/SSBI investigation.\n Certifications:\nDoD 8570/8140: IAT Level II baseline certification such as Secruty+CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH.\nCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).\nLocation and Travel: \nCandidates must be able to work daily from customer and/or contractor facilities as needed and be within commuting distance of one of the following locations:\nFort Belvoir, VA\nColumbus, OH\nDayton, OH\nNew Cumberland, PA\nOgden, UT\nPhiladelphia, PA\nRichmond, VA\nAnniston, AL\nSan Diego, CA\nFort Bragg, NC\nRobins AFB, GA\nTobyhanna, PA.\nTravel of up to approximately 50% may be required, both CONUS and OCONUS for network installation or troubleshooting as required.\n Work Environment and Physical Demand:\nMust be able to work from a computer for extended periods.\nMust be able to work from office, comm closet, warehouse, and other environments associated with network deployment and sustainment.\nThe projected salary range for this position is $70,000+ annually.
