He or she organizes the assignment of tasks for specific projects. He or she has multiple experience, knowledge and skills, integrates business knowledge and manages functional priorities. The Engineer supervises resources assigned to technical work in his/her discipline and makes recommendations on organizational requirements for his/her projects and technical innovations, devising economical and practical solutions to mechanical engineering challenges. He or she acts as a resource person to less experienced colleagues.\nThe Engineer works independently, prioritizing work according to specific project objectives.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nDesign:\nDevelops design and oversees and develops engineering documents, plans, specifications, addendums required to complete building, ventilation, automatic control, air conditioning, heating and cooling, plumbing, and fire protection projects in accordance with established standards and in coordination with other disciplines;\nDetermine construction costs and quantities in accordance with standard methods and established plans and specifications;\nConduct studies and prepare technical reports;\nSolve technical problems;\nSupervise and/or perform surveys, inspections, reports and site supervision including coordination with contractors and other disciplines;\nWrite progress reports and contribute to the development of action plans including the management of contractor extras;\nMake recommendations for payment of completed work; – Perform design quality assurance in his/her discipline; – Review shop drawings and completion documents.\nProject management:\nTake charge of small and medium size mechanical projects;\nIdentify, analyze and validate customer needs and requests;\nParticipate in the development of service offers, including the division of projects into work packages and the evaluation of work hours required to complete the projects;\nDevelop and coordinate project plans to meet cost, schedule and quality objectives;\nProduce control elements (minutes, progress reports, etc.) to ensure project follow-up;\nManage the relationship with project stakeholders and ensure their satisfaction;\nEnsure the compliance of the work performed by the personnel involved in the projects;\nManage changes that may be generated by client requests, project operational needs or field or site conditions and implement the necessary actions in the event of modifications to project plans;\nParticipate in the post-mortem of projects.\nDesired Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in the field of consulting engineering;\nTechnical knowledge of: ventilation systems, automatic regulation, air conditioning, heating and cooling, plumbing and fire protection;\nGood knowledge of current codes and standards, including the National Plumbing Code, ASHRAE standards and the National Building Code;\nFluency in spoken and written French, bilingualism an asset;\nPossess the ASP Construction certification for the General Health and Safety on Construction Sites course;\nKnowledge of energy efficiency grant programs (an asset);\nGood knowledge of the Office suite;\nKnowledge of Autocad;\nKnowledge of Revit MEP, HAP (an asset);\nMust have a valid driver’s license.\nDesired profile :\nGood ability to learn and adapt;\nInterest in collaboration and ability to work in a team;\nGood written and oral communication skills;\nDemonstrate professionalism and positive leadership;\nDemonstrate rigor, autonomy and initiative;\nGood time and priority management;\nAbility to work under pressure;\nGood analytical skills and ability to synthesize information\nCAREERS AGENCY; Our Agency, Your Career, Multiple OPPORTUNITIES *\n*Only successful candidates will be contacted. *\nHiring is conditional upon successful completion of a reference check, criminal check and credit check.
