He/she will lead or perform process design, engineering and scale-up chemical process technologies. This role requires good understanding and knowledge of the underlying key chemical engineering principles (eg. mass and energy transport, thermodynamics etc.) and uses computer aided engineering tools such as simulators, process and plant engineering tools for process development and engineering. This individual thinks analytically to solve problems and improve existing methods and processes.\nKey Accountabilities\nResponsible for the planning and/or execution of laboratory-based experiments or pilot-based campaigns in support of process development, design and scale-up\nPerform engineering calculations, techno-economic analysis and lifecycle assessment for process development and design\nAnalyse data from lab or pilot plant and reporting of project data/information to reporting officer or project supervisor\nAssist in developing new projects, including timelines, milestones, methodological approaches, expected results and necessary resources.\nSupport multi-disciplinary team of scientist and engineers through technical challenges and contribute to the successful completion of projects\nCoach junior process engineers and internship students\nJob Requirements\nMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical or other related engineering fields.\nPossess at least 3 years of experience in process development and engineering\nWorking knowledge on various process technologies, scale-up & scale-down and process intensification methodologies or principles\nHas good working experience with relevant computer aided engineering tools including simulation (eg. Aspen Plus, AVEVA, Gproms etc.)\nHas good appreciation of other related disciplines eg. electrical and instrumentation, automation, process safety etc.\nAbility to plan and/or execute experiments at laboratory and pilot scale (scale-up/scale-down) to support process development, troubleshooting and optimisation\nWorking experience in a chemical production facility and familiarity with regulations, codes and industry best practices would be highly desirable.
