The right candidate must be comfortable working with real supplier pricing, Florida-specific construction requirements, building codes, and permit processes.\nJob Summary\nWe are seeking a Construction Estimator with strong hands-on experience estimating Florida-based construction projects.\nYou will be responsible for performing detailed takeoffs, preparing bids and cost estimates, sourcing current supplier pricing, coordinating RFQs, and supporting preconstruction activities.\nThis role is ideal for someone who can take a set of plans and specifications, understand the scope, perform accurate takeoffs, and turn them into a realistic, market-based dollar estimate.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct detailed quantity takeoffs from construction plans, drawings, and specifications\n\nReview project documents to understand scope, materials, labor requirements, and specifications\n\nPrepare detailed and competitive bids and cost estimates\n\nSource and validate real supplier pricing for materials and project requirements\n\nConvert takeoff quantities into accurate dollar estimates\n\nPrepare and manage RFQ (Request for Quote) submissions\n\nFollow up with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing\n\nCoordinate with subcontractors regarding scope, pricing, and project requirements\n\nReview supplier and subcontractor quotes for completeness and accuracy\n\nHandle estimate revisions and pricing updates\n\nSupport general preconstruction activities\n\nMaintain accurate estimating records and documentation\n\nUse construction management and estimating software on a daily basis\n\nApply knowledge of Florida building codes, permitting requirements, and construction practices when developing estimates\n\nSupport successful and timely bid submissions\n\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred\n\nProven experience working on Florida-based construction projects\n\nStrong understanding of Florida building codes and local construction requirements\n\nFamiliarity with Florida's permit processes and code-compliant construction\n\nProven ability to perform detailed takeoffs and convert them into accurate cost estimates\n\nStrong understanding of real-world supplier pricing and construction cost structures\n\nExperience obtaining pricing directly from suppliers and subcontractors\n\nStrong understanding of construction materials, labor, and project costs\n\nFluent English, both written and verbal\n\nStrong attention to detail and estimating accuracy\n\nAbility to work independently in a remote environment\n\nStrong communication and follow-up skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nHands-on experience
