The company specializes in commercial projects and is looking for a dedicated Estimator who can help strengthen its estimating and bidding process.\nThis is a great opportunity for someone who understands the U.S. commercial construction market, knows how to build accurate and competitive estimates, and can work independently while staying closely aligned with the client’s team.\nJob Summary\nWe’re looking for a Mid-Level Electrical & HVAC Estimator with at least 3 years of U.S. market estimating experience.\nYou’ll be responsible for preparing competitive bids and detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical and HVAC projects. You’ll work directly within the client’s systems and collaborate with the team to ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with current Maryland/Mid-Atlantic market conditions.\nThe ideal candidate is detail-oriented, practical, and comfortable taking ownership of the estimating process in a remote environment.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare accurate and competitive estimates and bids for commercial electrical and HVAC projects.\n\nReview project plans, specifications, scopes, and other bid documents to determine labor, materials, equipment, and overall project costs.\n\nAnalyze project requirements and develop pricing appropriate for the Maryland commercial market.\n\nPerform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for electrical and/or HVAC scopes.\n\nWork directly within client systems and estimating platforms.\n\nMaintain organized and accurate estimating records and pricing information.\n\nCollaborate with the client team throughout the estimating and bidding process.\n\nResearch and apply current market pricing, labor costs, and material costs.\n\nIdentify potential cost risks, scope gaps, and estimating discrepancies before bids are submitted.\n\nHelp improve and maintain efficient estimating workflows and processes.\n\nMeet deadlines and manage multiple estimates while maintaining a high level of accuracy.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n3+ years of estimating experience within the U.S. market.\n\nExperience estimating commercial electrical and/or HVAC projects.\n\nStrong understanding of U.S. commercial construction practices and pricing.\n\nExperience with Maryland or Mid-Atlantic projects is highly preferred.\n\nCivil Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on estimating experience.\n\nFluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.\n\nAbility to analyze plans, specifications, scopes, and construction documents.\n\nStrong understanding of labor, material, and project costing.\n\nAble to work independently and take ownership of assigned estimates.\n\nComfortable working remotely while being fully embedded in the client’s systems and processes.\n\nAble to work a full-time schedule aligned with Eastern Time.\n\nWillingness to complete a paid skills assessment as part of the hiring process.\n\nTools & Software\nExperience with the following is preferred:\nServiceTitan\n\nMcCormick\n\nSnap Count\n\nBluebeam\n\nPlanSwift\n\nProcore\n\nOn-Screen Takeoff (OST)\n\nExperience with other commercial construction estimating platforms is also welcome.\nWhat Makes You Stand Out\nYou’ll stand out if you have:\nA portfolio or work samples showing successful competitive bids and estimates.\n\nProven experience estimating Maryland or Mid-Atlantic commercial projects.\n\nExperience with complex commercial electrical systems, HVAC systems, or both.\n\nA strong understanding of local market pricing and competitive bidding.\n\nA track record of producing accurate estimates under tight deadlines.\n\nExperience working directly with U.S.-based contractors or construction companies.\n\nNon-Negotiables\nMinimum 3 years of U.S. estimating experience.\n\nCommercial electrical and/or HVAC estimating experience.\n\nFluent English proficiency.\n\nFull-time availability, 40 hours/week.\n\nDedicated to one client during working hours.\n\nAbility to work on Eastern Time.\n\nComfortable working remotely and directly within client systems.\n\nWillingness to complete a paid skills assessment.\n\nWho Will Thrive in This Role?\nThis role is best suited for an estimator who is accurate, practical, self-directed, and commercially minded.
