The ideal candidate has strong CPG accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and SPS Commerce.\nKey Responsibilities\nAccounts Payable & Accounts Receivable\nOversee day-to-day AP and AR activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded\n\nReview and process vendor bills through Bill.com, including appropriate coding to expense, COGS, inventory, and balance sheet accounts\n\nReview invoices for accuracy and proper accounting treatment\n\nManage vendor and customer account reconciliations\n\nGenerate and review invoices for wholesale, B2B, and distributor customers\n\nMonitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding balances\n\nManage customer deductions, chargebacks, credits, and distributor remittances\n\nInvestigate and resolve discrepancies in vendor and customer accounts\n\nCash Application & Reconciliations\nApply customer payments and deposits accurately to outstanding invoices\n\nInvestigate and clear unapplied or misapplied cash\n\nPerform and review bank and credit card reconciliations\n\nMatch deposits and payments to the appropriate customers, vendors, invoices, and bills\n\nInvestigate unreconciled transactions and ensure accounts are fully supported\n\nPerform balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and other assigned accounts\n\nSales Channel, Inventory & COGS Accounting\nRecord and reconcile sales from major CPG sales channels, including Amazon Seller Central, Shopify, wholesale, and distributor channels\n\nReconcile sales channel reports to QuickBooks Online\n\nReview and record channel fees, commissions, returns, discounts, refunds, and other deductions\n\nSupport accurate accounting for inventory and COGS\n\nInvestigate discrepancies between sales platform reports and accounting records\n\nWork with SPS Commerce data and reports to support accurate sales and invoicing\n\nDevelop an understanding of customer and distributor-specific accounting requirements\n\nMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting\nSupport and take ownership of assigned month-end close activities\n\nPrepare and post journal entries as needed\n\nComplete account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules\n\nReview balance sheet and P&L accounts for accuracy and unusual activity\n\nIdentify accounting discrepancies and proactively communicate issues for resolution\n\nEnsure assigned close activities are completed accurately and on time\n\nMaintain complete and accurate accounting records in accordance with established procedures\n\nTeam & Client Collaboration\nWork closely with the Controller and Staff Accountants on accounting operations and deliverables\n\nReview accounting work and help ensure accuracy and consistency across client accounts\n\nParticipate in client onboarding calls and ongoing client meetings\n\nCommunicate directly with clients regarding accounting questions, discrepancies, and missing information\n\nManage multiple accounting priorities and deadlines across client accounts\n\nMaintain clear documentation and supporting schedules for all assigned work\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\n\n3+ years of hands-on accounting experience\n\nDirect experience working with CPG companies or CPG clients\n\nStrong understanding of AP, AR, cash application, bank reconciliations, inventory, COGS, accruals, and month-end close\n\nHands-on experience with QuickBooks Online\n\nHands-on experience with Bill.com\n\nExperience with SPS Commerce and EDI processes\n\nExperience working with wholesale customers, distributors, or B2B accounts\n\nUnderstanding of CPG sales channels, deductions, chargebacks, distributor remittances, and related accounting processes\n\nIntermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and IF functions\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies\n\nAbility to manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines\n\nExcellent written and verbal English communication skills\n\nComfortable communicating directly with clients and participating in client calls\n\nCPG Experience\nCandidates should have experience working with CPG, food & beverage, consumer products, wholesale, or similar product-based businesses.\nExperience
