Our focus is 100% on providing best-of-suite Imaging IT software solutions that enable secure, effective and sustainable imaging data management.\nFrom product development to implementation, our unified Enterprise Imaging Platform is purpose-built to reduce complexity, improve productivity and deliver clinical value. We use our proven track record as an innovator, our in-depth medical knowledge and our strategic guidance to help healthcare providers achieve their clinical, operational and business strategies.\nThe Global Product Manager - Platform Deployment & Lifecycle is responsible for defining and delivering the product strategy for packaging, installing, configuring, scaling, upgrading, rolling back, and recovering AGFA HealthCare Enterprise Imaging software across public cloud, private cloud, virtualized, and Kubernetes environments.\nThe role owns the transition from manual, engineer-dependent installation practices to standardized, repeatable, secure, and supportable deployment automation. Working across R&D, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, Service, and Support, the Product Manager translates operational needs into roadmaps, use cases, acceptance criteria, and release guidance for immutable AMI-based virtual machines, Kubernetes and Helm, GitOps, infrastructure as code, automated validation, and lifecycle governance. Daily hands-on engineering is not the primary responsibility; however, the role requires sufficient technical depth to understand designs, challenge assumptions, identify dependencies, and make informed product trade-offs.\nLocation:\nRemote: North America (Waterloo or Remote)\nWhat You'll Do:\nProduct Strategy & Roadmap Governance\nDefine and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for platform deployment, installation, configuration, upgrade, rollback, scaling, and recovery capabilities.\nPrioritise investment based on customer value, operational risk, deployment effort, supportability, security, cost, and strategic alignment.\nEstablish standard product patterns that reduce site-specific configurations and support consistent delivery across cloud, virtualized, and Kubernetes-based environments.\nDefine clear product boundaries between AGFA-owned deployment capabilities, platform infrastructure, third-party software, and customer-managed responsibilities.\nMaintain a sequenced roadmap that distinguishes minimum viable capability, technical enablers, and validated future expansion.\nCloud Platform Transformation & Lifecycle Product Ownership\nDrive the transition from in-place binary installation to immutable, image-based virtual machine replacement using prebuilt Amazon Machine Images and equivalent cloud image patterns.\nDefine product requirements for isolating persistent state from compute lifecycle so that virtual machines can be replaced, resized, scaled, redeployed, or rolled back without reinstalling or losing required state.\nShape Kubernetes deployment capabilities using containers, Helm charts, standard deployment profiles, Git-managed configuration, and GitOps reconciliation through tools such as Flux or Argo CD.\nEnsure that Terraform, Ansible, image-building pipelines, cloud-init, configuration stores, secrets management, and CI/CD workflows operate as a coherent product lifecycle rather than disconnected engineering tools.\nDefine requirements for automated bootstrap, idempotent installation, controlled overrides, version management, health validation, smoke testing, observability registration, and documented recovery.\nSupport horizontal scaling and resilient deployment patterns, including auto-scaling groups, rolling replacement, high-availability topologies, and controlled zero- or minimal-downtime upgrade approaches.\nRequirements, Backlog & Delivery Leadership\nConvert strategic outcomes and operational pain points into well-structured epics, use cases, acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements, impact analysis, and definition-of-done expectations.\nMaintain an actionable backlog that balances customer-facing outcomes with platform enablers, automation, technical debt, security, observability, and supportability.\nWork with engineering teams to identify contracts and dependencies between AMIs, Terraform modules, Ansible automation, cloud-init payloads, secrets, configuration schemas, Helm charts, Git repositories, and runtime environments.\nClarify ownership across teams and ensure that cross-team dependencies are assigned, planned, and visible before release commitments are made.\nLead scope decisions and trade-off discussions when requirements affect release timing, architecture, operational cost, backward compatibility, or platform support boundaries.\nEnsure release guidance covers supported models, prerequisites, sizing, upgrade, rollback, known limits, and support responsibilities.\nCross-Functional Leadership\nCollaborate with R&D, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, Service, Support, Quality, and Product Leadership to align product direction and execution.\nFacilitate technical discovery and decision-making without replacing the accountability of architects, engineering leads, or DevOps implementers.\nRepresent deployment and lifecycle requirements during product planning, programme increment planning, architecture reviews, release readiness reviews, and operational risk discussions.\nTranslate complex infrastructure and automation topics into clear business outcomes, customer impact, executive decisions, and delivery priorities.\nCustomer, Service & Market Engagement\nGather feedback from service engineers, deployment teams, support organizations, cloud operations, customers, and partners to identify recurring installation and lifecycle challenges.\nUse deployment data and field experience to reduce manual steps, configuration variation, upgrade risk, recovery time, and total cost of ownership.\nSupport strategic customer opportunities, solution reviews, and RFP or RFI responses where deployment automation, cloud operating models, scalability, resilience, security, or lifecycle management are material.\nRisk Management & Continuous Improvement\nIdentify and manage product risks related to configuration drift, manual intervention, secrets handling, unsupported customization, failed upgrades, rollback, persistent state, and cross-team ownership gaps.\nEnsure security, vulnerability management, patching, auditability, and regulated healthcare requirements are incorporated into deployment and lifecycle capabilities.\nEstablish measurable feedback loops using installation results, upgrade outcomes, support incidents, observability data, deployment lead time, and automation adoption.\nChampion standardization and continuous improvement that increase reliability, deployment speed, operational efficiency, and customer confidence.\nLeadership & Influence\nAct as the product authority for platform deployment and lifecycle outcomes across the Enterprise Imaging portfolio.\nPromote product thinking within platform and DevOps initiatives by focusing on reusable capability, supported outcomes, measurable value, and customer impact.\nDrive adoption of standard deployment patterns and governance while constructively challenging unnecessary complexity and unsupported one-off solutions.\nWho You Are:\nDemonstrated product management experience with enterprise software, cloud platforms, infrastructure products, deployment tooling, or technical platform services.\nExperience owning a roadmap and backlog for products that involve multiple engineering teams and significant architectural or operational dependencies.\nStrong understanding of modern software delivery, release management, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and immutable infrastructure principles.\nExperience working with AWS or another major public cloud provider, including compute, scaling, storage, identity, configuration, and secrets-management services.\nExperience with Kubernetes-based platforms and the product implications of containers, Helm, GitOps, high availability, scaling, upgrades, and observability.\nProven ability to influence technical teams and senior stakeholders without relying on direct authority.\nExperience in healthcare IT, regulated enterprise environments, imaging systems, or other\nKubernetes, containers, Helm charts, deployment profiles, operators, Git, GitOps, Flux, reconciliation, drift detection, and environment promotion.\nTerraform and infrastructure-as-code concepts, including modules, state, dependencies, environments, and repeatable provisioning.\nAnsible and configuration-management concepts, including idempotency, inventory, playbooks, role-based automation, and post-provision configuration.\nImmutable infrastructure and AWS lifecycle concepts, including AMIs, image pipelines, EC2 Image Builder or Packer, EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, storage, IAM, Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, cloud-init, persistent-state separation, validation, replacement, and rollback.\nCI/CD, artifact repositories, release orchestration, semantic versioning, automated testing, observability, health checks, smoke tests, diagnostics, backup and restore, and disaster recovery.\nEnterprise security, vulnerability and patch management, high availability, resiliency, capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud financial management.\nEnterprise Imaging and healthcare interoperability concepts sufficient to understand the operational context of the platform.\nOur Values:\n Own It (I do what I say, full accountability for results, finding solutions and Practice ethical and safe behaviors)\n Play as One (Collaborate for a common goal, diverse perspectives. Listen and communicate with respect, support decision for teams’ benefits)\n Move Forward (Embrace change, explore opportunities to innovate, feedback and improve performance, Proactive steps to resolve issues and continuous progress).\n Drive Value (Bold choices to maximize value creation, customer deliver exceptional value, add value to all stakeholders, use data to generate crucial insights and outcomes).\nWhat we offer now and in the future:\nDynamic global organization with a history of innovation and strong product portfolio.\nChallenging environment combined with a supportive management structure.\nCareer development and growth.\nCompetitive salary and benefit package.\nFriendly work environment surrounded by dedicated and professional colleagues.\nDiversity and Inclusion:\nAt Agfa, our mission at Agfa is to ensure that everyone belongs.
