This role is responsible for leading and coordinating all project specific commissioning activities, working closely with engineering, construction, OEM partners, and operations teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful start-up and handover of renewable energy assets (incorporating thermal generation, solar PV, BESS, and wind).\nWhy Aggreko? Here are some enticing perks and rewards.\nCompetitive salary and performance bonuses\nOpportunities for professional development and career progression\nA dynamic and purpose-driven culture\nAccess to cutting-edge technology and global resources\nWhat you'll do:\nPlan, coordinate, and lead commissioning activities for hybrid renewable energy projects, including thermal, solar photovoltaic (PV), Battery energy storage system (BESS), and wind turbine generators.\nDevelop commissioning procedures, Inspection and Test Plans schedules, procedures, and checklists aligned with project requirements and industry standards.\nSupervise commissioning teams, subcontractors, and third-party vendors to ensure quality and safety compliance.\nOversee system testing, performance verification, and troubleshooting during commissioning phases.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.\nEnsure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout commissioning.\nPrepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packages.\nFacilitate client inspections, acceptance testing, and final project handover.\nDrive continuous improvement in commissioning processes and methodologies.\nTo thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related technical discipline.\nHigh voltage switching qualifications or equivalent (preferred).\nOEM training / certifications for solar inverters, wind turbines, or BESS systems (advantage).\nStrong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, AS/NZS, grid codes).\n5 - 10+ years commissioning experience in power generation and/or heavy industrial projects.\nEstablished track record commissioning thermal, solar PV, wind turbines, and BESS.\nExperience with hybrid power plant controls, Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA systems, and grid integration.\nStrong understanding of HV / LV electrical systems, protection schemes, grid codes, control systems and utility interfacing.\nDemonstrated experience/understanding of Hazardous Areas associated with hydrocarbons\nThorough understanding of Tier 1 commissioning process’s or similar.\nDemonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary site teams in complex commissioning environments.\nKey Competencies:\nLeadership and team management in high-risk technical environments\nStrong diagnostic and problem-resolution skills\nExcellent planning and organisational capability\nStakeholder communication and contractor management\nCommitment to safety and quality assurance\nAbility to work in remote and challenging project locations\nIf you're ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding role in a dynamic environment, apply now to be a part of our dedicated team at Aggreko.\nJoin us.
