As a Workshop Electrician you will be responsible for carrying out routine electrical servicing and maintenance of workshop equipment, including basic fault finding and repairs on alternators and low-voltage systems, loadbank operation, battery upkeep, and product control tasks, ensuring safe and efficient equipment performance.\nPower without pause. From world-class events that last a few weeks to mining operations and remote communities who rely on us for decades.\nWhat you’ll do as a Workshop Electrician:\nDiagnose, fault-find and repair a wide range of generators (portable to containerised) to restore safe, reliable operation\n\nConduct load testing and commissioning on generators from 20-2000 kVA, recording results and verifying performance to specification\n\nStrip down, rewire and modify control panels and control modules-upgrading wiring, replacing components and updating schematics as required\n\nInspect, repair and prepare HV transformers and high-voltage cable installations, following safe isolation and testing procedures\n\nMaintain, troubleshoot and repair AC loadbanks and program/validate control modules, working with three-phase 415 V systems and engine electronic control modules where applicable\n\nYou are:\nTime-served electrical engineer with demonstrable, hands-on electrical experience and a clear electrical background\n\nSCQF Level 7 (SVQ Level 3) or time-served/apprentice-qualified with strong practical understanding of DC and AC controls, plus single- and three-phase electrics\n\nProven experience in control panel strip-downs, rewires and electrical modifications, including reading and updating wiring diagrams.\n\nPractical experience working on generators, plant or heavy equipment (HV, loadbanks or engine systems); knowledge of engine ECMs is a strong advantage\n\nFull, valid driving licence and excellent organisational and communication skills; able to manage workload, document work and liaise with clients or site teams\n\nHere’s what you’ll get:\nA highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension plan, annual bonus opportunities, and Life Assurance.\n\nAnnual leave allowance of 30 days plus 3 public holidays, with the flexibility to buy or sell additional days to suit your lifestyle\n\nOngoing training and personalised development pathways to help you grow your skills and progress in your career\n\nPaid volunteering days, giving you the chance to make a positive impact in your local community\n\nAccess to our Employee Assistance Programme, offering confidential support and resources to promote your wellbeing and a healthy work-life balance\n\nOur people are can-do, positive, resilient and persistent.
