With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.\nThe Opportunity\nThe Application Engineer will configure material handling equipment and produce approval and fabrication drawings through interaction with Sales, the Customer and Designers.\nResponsibilities:\nWork independently within established design procedures, equipment portfolios and templates to develop project specific equipment designs or configurations meeting customer requirements.\nVerifies the integrity of what was quoted, entered on the order, and client expectations are technically sound before beginning\nCreates and updates engineering calculation tools (and gets peer review completed)\nCommunicates details for creation of 3D models and drawings by Application Designer\nReviews drawings created by Application Designer to ensure it matches the customer expectations or application requirement\nResponsible to have drawings peer reviewed prior to sending to sales or the client\nResponsible for updating and confirming accuracy of ERP information\nTrack changes in equipment designs throughout the approval process and assists with cost impact to support the change order process.\nResponsible for application related document control, i.e., material handling spreadsheet updates, approval drawing revisions, etc.\nResolves any questions that arise with the client, sales or shop.\nKeep all pertinent parties advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments\nSelf assigns projects based on resource availability\nProvides warranty support related to application issues to Service Manager (technical advice)\nTravel to jobsites or AGI manufacturing centers when necessary\nSpends time learning, with goal to fully understand all calculations in designs, and why all choices are made\nAssist engineering leadership in development and implementation of department processes and procedures.\nProvide training to fellow engineering staff\nDevelops application related documents and tools\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited University\nRegistered P.Eng. or eligible for Pre-Registration status (EIT)\nExperience using Solidworks and reading drawings is essential\nIndustrial material handling experience preferred (3+ years)\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite\nExcellent communicator, both verbal and written\nAbility to work independently or as part of a team\nDemonstrates strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability\nHighly organized and detail oriented with excellent time management skills\nAbility to work independently or as part of a team\nDemonstrates strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving ability\nAbility to work in complex environment often driven by project deadlines\nMechanical aptitude and a desire to work in a fabricated equipment environment, with a propensity for machine design\nWhy AGI?\nWe’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how:\nWe’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies.
