This role works closely with production, quality, supply chain, sales, and service teams to develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective products that meet customer needs and industry standards. The engineer will lead projects from concept through production while supporting ongoing product improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.\nResponsibilities: \nDesign and develop fabrication equipment, components, and systems using CAD software.\nCreate and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation.\nEvaluate existing products and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for performance, quality, and cost improvements.\nLead product development projects from concept, prototyping, testing, validation, and implementation through production launch.\nCollaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production methods, tooling, and assembly processes.\nConduct engineering analyses, including structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and material evaluations.\nSupport troubleshooting and resolution of product and manufacturing issues.\nCoordinate testing activities and analyze field performance data to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.\nWork with suppliers to develop and qualify components and materials.\nEnsure products comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company quality requirements.\nParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupport sales and customer service departments by providing technical expertise and product training.\nTravel periodically to customer locations, dealer networks, suppliers, and testing facilities as required.\nConsistently works in a safe and efficient manner by following company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations and by wearing any required PPE.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent field; Master’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\n3-7 years of engineering experience in fabrication equipment, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or a related industry preferred.\nExperience with product design, manufacturing processes, and project management. \nMaster’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification preferred.\nExperience with ERP, MES, and quality management systems preferred.\nKnowledge of robotics, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies preferred.\nExperience within fabrication equipment manufacturing preferred.\nProficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or Inventor.\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, machining, fabrication, and assembly.\nUnderstanding of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.\nExperience with engineering analysis and product testing methodologies.\nFamiliarity with ERP and PLM systems preferred.\nStrong understanding of GD&T and engineering documentation standards.\nManufacturing equipment design experience.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.\nKnowledge of agricultural operations and farming practices.\nProven successful project management and organizational skills required.\nWorking Knowledge of systematic problem-solving methodologies including Six Sigma, 5 Why, and 8D desired.\nWhy AGI?\nWe’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how:\nWe’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies.
