Job Description
- Deploy, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and secure Linux-based servers
- Develop, maintain, and enforce standardized RHEL system baselines in accordance with enterprise security requirements, STIGs, and operational standards
- Deploy and manage RHEL systems throughout their lifecycle, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
- Manage RHEL software packages and repositories using YUM/DNF.
- Configure and maintain enterprise Linux services, including DNS, DHCP, NFS, and related infrastructure services.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, authentication, and access controls in accordance with established security policies.
- Apply and test kernel updates, package upgrades, security patches, and configuration changes in production and development environments.
- Monitor Linux systems for performance, security, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Implement and maintain system backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Support the integration and deployment of Linux systems supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage Linux infrastructure across distributed hybrid-cloud environments.
- Support enterprise RHEL environments across AWS, on-premises, and geographically distributed infrastructure.
- Design and implement reliable, scalable, and secure Linux solutions supporting global enterprise operations.
- Integrate Linux systems with enterprise networking, security, authentication, monitoring, and application services.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues spanning Linux, cloud, network, and application environments.
- Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend improvements to system reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Perform continuous monitoring of Linux systems using vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus.
- Analyze weekly and monthly vulnerability scan results and identify security vulnerabilities and compliance deficiencies.
- Mitigate vulnerabilities through system reconfiguration, security patches, security updates, and configuration changes.
- Harden Linux systems using Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), security baselines, and approved configurations.
- Support compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applicable Intelligence Community security requirements.
- Track, document, and report vulnerability remediation activities.
- Collaborate with Information Assurance and Cybersecurity teams to ensure Linux systems meet applicable security and compliance requirements.
- Support security assessments, audits, inspections, and authorization activities.
- Develop and maintain Bash, Python, and other automation scripts to streamline Linux administration and cybersecurity activities.
- Implement and manage automated patching, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Utilize automation and configuration-management technologies such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative and security tasks.
- Develop standardized and repeatable processes for Linux deployment, configuration, hardening, patching, and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for Linux systems, configurations, architectures, and operational procedures.
- Document vulnerability findings, remediation activities, configuration changes, and resolutions.
- Support security audits and compliance assessments by providing technical information and documentation.
- Maintain documentation necessary to support RMF and Intelligence Community compliance requirements.
- Work closely with Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure Linux environments meet operational and security requirements.
- Collaborate with network administrators and application teams to integrate Linux systems into enterprise solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for complex Linux engineering and infrastructure issues.
- Stay current with Linux, cloud, cybersecurity, and automation technologies and recommend improvements to the enterprise environment.
As part of Agile Defense, the successful candidate will provide Linux engineering, systems administration, and cybersecurity services supporting the sustainment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments across Army and Military Intelligence (MI) Domain networks. The position will support both on-premises infrastructure and Army Commercial Cloud Service Provider (AC2SP) environments.
The contract services will contribute to the operation, sustainment, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance of Army JWICS and the MI Domains across the INSCOM G6/GISA global enterprise.

Bachelor s Degree in a technology-related field or 15 years of related experience. Experienced Red Hat Linux Administrator.
