As part of a distributed, cross-functional team, this role works across operational, acquisition, product, and technical communities to connect mission requirements with executable software outcomes supporting the Cadre Software Acquisitions Pathway team.\nBased in San Diego and co-located with the Joint Fires Network (JFN) development team at NIWC-Pacific, the Technical Integration Lead provides hands-on technical integration expertise across software, systems, data, architecture, cybersecurity, and operational environments. The role works closely with USPACOM operational stakeholders, JFN, CDAO, the lead systems integrator, and other technical partners to translate mission needs into actionable technical requirements, identify dependencies and integration risks, and support software development and implementation.\nSuccess in this role requires strong technical depth, sound judgment, and the ability to create clarity and forward progress in complex environments where requirements, interfaces, and responsibilities continue to evolve. The Technical Integration Lead also brings relevant lessons and insights from execution back to company leadership to strengthen technical approaches, delivery practices, and broader strategic objectives.\nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nServe as a technical integration lead across operational stakeholders, software development teams, systems integrators, and CDAO partners.\nTranslate operational workflows, user needs, and discovery findings into technical requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, interface requirements, and development priorities.\nSupport technical integration across JFN mission areas, including PT-COP, track fusion, target-effector pairing, and edge architecture.\nIdentify and resolve integration dependencies across APIs, data, interfaces, infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity and access, deployment environments, and adjacent systems.\nSupport definition and refinement of technical boundaries and interfaces among JFN, MSS, and related capabilities.\nParticipate in backlog refinement, architecture and technical reviews, demonstrations, testing, and implementation planning.\nEvaluate technical decisions and architecture for impacts to interoperability, cybersecurity, operational implementation, and future scaling.\nApply modular, API-first, and open architecture principles to support interoperable and adaptable software solutions.\nIncorporate cybersecurity and authorization considerations into development and implementation planning.\nWork across technical and organizational boundaries to investigate issues, engage the appropriate stakeholders, and develop actionable paths toward resolution.\nCapture technical decisions, implementation lessons, and reusable patterns to support JFN, Cadre, and broader CDAO objectives.\nShare relevant technical, acquisition, and delivery insights with company leadership to strengthen organizational capabilities, delivery practices, and strategic planning.\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of relevant experience in software engineering, systems engineering, systems integration, technical delivery, or a related field. Higher education, specialized training, relevant military service, and professional experience may be considered in combination.\nDemonstrated experience supporting complex software or systems integration efforts across multiple technical disciplines, organizations, or mission systems.\nDemonstrated experience integrating complex software or systems across multiple technical disciplines, platforms, organizations, or mission environments.\nDemonstrated experience translating operational or user needs into actionable technical requirements and development priorities.\nWorking knowledge of modern software architecture, APIs, data integration, system interfaces, and interoperability.\nExperience working with software development teams in Agile or iterative delivery environments.\nDemonstrated ability to identify and work through technical dependencies that cross traditional engineering or organizational boundaries.\nDemonstrated ability to create clarity and drive technical problem-solving in ambiguous environments where requirements, ownership, interfaces, or processes are still evolving.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, product, and program stakeholders.\nActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting DoD, Joint, Combatant Command, Navy/NIWC, or CDAO mission environments.\nExperience with command and control, battle management, Joint fires, targeting, track or sensor fusion, or related mission architectures.\nExperience with machine learning or AI-enabled capabilities and their integration into operational workflows.\nExperience with tactical, distributed, or edge-computing architectures.\nFamiliarity with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), API-first architecture, and open architecture principles.\nExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure software delivery practices.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity, RMF, system authorization, and identity and access considerations.\nExperience with defense software acquisition, rapid capability delivery, or other iterative acquisition approaches.\nExperience with MSS or comparable Government software, data, or development environments.\nFamiliarity with product management practices and the relationship between operational discovery, product priorities, software development, and user feedback.\nWorking Conditions\nEnvironmental Conditions\nWork is primarily performed in professional office, Government, and technical development environments. This position requires regular on-site collaboration in the San Diego area, including work with Government and development stakeholders at or in support of NIWC-Pacific. Periodic travel may be required to support operational stakeholders and other mission activities.
