Through this work, we keep laboratories running efficiently and reliably.\nAs a Field Service Engineer, you will support customers through on-site installation, implementation, preventive maintenance, and repair of Agilent Spectroscopy systems.\nYou will work across a variety of laboratory environments, applying strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first mindset.\nYou will support integrated solutions, including hardware, software, operating systems, and networking components, while continuously developing technical depth across Agilent’s Spectroscopy portfolio.\nKey Responsibilities\nInstall, configure, and optimize Agilent Spectroscopy hardware, software, and networked systems at customer sites\nDiagnose and resolve product performance and availability issues at the system and solution level\nPerform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and system optimizations\nProactively identify potential equipment issues to prevent unplanned downtime\nAdvise customers on preventive maintenance schedules and configuration best practices\nDeliver fully integrated solutions, including peripherals, operating systems, and application software\nBuild strong customer relationships through clear communication and high-quality service delivery\nTrain customers and, as needed, other field engineers on Agilent Spectroscopy solutions\nTerritory Coverage\nThe ideal candidate will live in or near Lansing, MI, or West Michigan (Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids). Note: No relocation is offered for this position at this time.\nThe position requires an active driver's license.\nCompany Vehicle Program: This territory offers either vehicle mileage reimbursement or a company car.\nTerritory: MI, covering IL, WI, KY, IN as needed.\nTravel may involve spending up to 75% of the time on the road visiting customer locations.\nJob Requirement: Meet Agilent-approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include, but are not limited to: post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. This position requires your consent to participate in customer-requested screening.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent university-level degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).\n1-2+ years of industry experience working with spectroscopy instrumentation is highly preferred.\nExperience supporting Agilent Spectroscopy systems.\nHighly preferred: hands-on experience with ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and/or UV-Vis spectroscopy.\nStrong problem-solving skills with a systems-focused approach.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nProven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.\nAbility to travel 50% or more, based on the territory at the time.\nValid driver’s license required\nAdditional Details\nThis job has a full time weekly schedule. In the US, this position is eligible for choice of company car or reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $34.00 - $53.13/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
