This role is focused on solving high-impact production challenges, improving process capability, and driving product consistency that directly impacts customer experience and business performance.\nAs a key member of the MSAT organization, you will serve as the technical bridge between manufacturing, quality, R&D, and global manufacturing teams, applying scientific and engineering principles to optimize manufacturing processes and improve operational robustness. You will lead investigations into complex manufacturing issues, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and deliver data-driven solutions that enhance product quality, yield, and customer satisfaction. \nKey Responsibilities:\nProvide technical leadership for liquid chromatography column manufacturing processes, supporting both silica particle production/modification and column packing/loading operations.\nLead root cause investigations for complex production issues impacting quality, throughput, yield, or customer performance.\nApply chemistry, engineering, and materials science knowledge to understand process interactions and develop sustainable solutions.\nUse statistical analysis, process capability metrics, Design of Experiments (DOE), and advanced data analytics to drive informed decision making.\nImprove process robustness and reduce variability through identification and implementation of process improvements.\nPartner with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Product Management to resolve technical challenges and implement lifecycle improvements.\nSupport technology transfer, process scale-up, material changes, supplier changes, and new product introductions.\nDevelop and maintain process knowledge, control strategies, and technical standards that ensure consistent manufacturing performance across sites.\nDrive value creation initiatives focused on quality, delivery, capacity, and cost improvements.\nCommunicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nImproved customer consistency and product performance.\nReduced process variation and increased manufacturing capability.\nFaster resolution of complex production issues.\nEnhanced process knowledge and technical standards.\nSuccessful implementation of projects that improve quality, delivery, and productivity.\nStrong collaboration across manufacturing, quality, and development organizations.\nOur Ideal Candidate:\nYou are a scientifically curious and highly analytical problem solver who enjoys working at the interface of chemistry, engineering, and manufacturing. You thrive in a fast-paced production environment, use data to challenge assumptions and guide decisions, and are passionate about translating deep process understanding into measurable improvements for customers and the business.\nThis role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on product quality, manufacturing performance, and customer satisfaction across Agilent's chromatography column portfolio.\nQualifications\nBachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.\n4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement methodologies.\nExperience applying data analysis and statistical tools to solve complex technical problems.\nDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nPreferred:\nExperience in chromatography, silica materials, particle synthesis, porous materials, separation science, or consumables manufacturing.\nKnowledge of LC column manufacturing, packing processes, particle creation and modification, particle characterization, or related technologies.\nExperience with process capability analysis, DOE, SPC, Lean Six Sigma, or advanced manufacturing analytics.\nFamiliarity with ISO9001 manufacturing environments and quality systems.\nAdditional Details\nThis job has a full time weekly schedule.
