Based in the Santa Clara area, you'll collaborate closely with scientists, product managers, software engineers, and automation experts across Agilent's global organization.\nKey Responsibilities\nCell Analysis\nDesign intuitive software experiences for Cell Analysis instruments, applications, and scientific workflows.\nDevelop a deep understanding of cellular analysis workflows and user needs to create scientifically grounded, user-centered solutions.\nTranslate scientific, technical, business, and user requirements into workflows, prototypes, and intuitive interfaces.\nHelp create a seamless experience across software, instruments, and user touchpoints.\nPartner with UX researchers and stakeholders to evaluate concepts and improve usability.\nLaboratory Automation\nConduct UX research to understand how scientists and laboratory teams work today and how automation will shape future workflows.\nMap end-to-end laboratory processes, identifying pain points, opportunities, dependencies, and automation needs.\nEngage customers and internal experts through interviews, observations, and workshops to uncover insights.\nTranslate research findings into workflow models, recommendations, and opportunity areas that guide product strategy.\nCollaborate with scientists, automation specialists, product managers, and development teams to ensure solutions are grounded in real-world needs.\nValidate concepts with users and refine solutions before implementation.\nAcross Both Areas\nAdvocate for the user perspective in cross-functional discussions and decision-making.\nPartner with Product Management, Engineering, and UX teams throughout discovery, design, development, and validation.\nApply and contribute to Agilent's design system to create consistent, scalable experiences.\nLeverage modern AI-powered design and prototyping tools to accelerate innovation and communication.\nHelp shape the future of connected, intelligent laboratory software that empowers scientists worldwide.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field.\n3+ years of UX design experience in life sciences, laboratory software, medical technology, enterprise software, or other complex technical environments.\nExperience conducting qualitative UX research and translating findings into actionable product insights.\nStrong skills in workflow design, interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and UI design.\nProficiency with Figma and modern design tools.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting products from discovery through launch.\nExperience with laboratory automation, instrument-connected software, workflow orchestration, or data-rich applications.\nFamiliarity with software design systems and agile product development.\nPassion for designing solutions that connect people, software, instruments, and laboratory processes.\nAdditional Details\nThis job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
