This role supports laboratory analysis, production optimization, environmental monitoring, and regulatory compliance by maintaining sample integrity from collection through delivery to laboratory facilities. \nTotal rewards:$40.00 hourly\n12 Months of contract position \nFly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) or bus transportation available.\nRotation: 7 days on / 7 days off.\nShift length: 11.43 hours per day\nOutdoor work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.\n\nA typical day:Safety & Compliance\r\nEnsure all work is completed in accordance with site safety procedures and protocols.\r\nReport safety concerns and contribute to initiatives that improve workplace safety at the Christina Lake facility.Serve as the Laboratory Shipping Champion by ensuring Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements are met, including proper labeling, documentation, chain-of-custody (COC) records, and cost coding.\nLaboratory Operations & Sampling\r\nSupport laboratory operations while adhering to safety and environmental standards.\r\nPerform routine and non-routine field sampling activities.\nConduct routine and non-routine chemical and physical analyses as required to support operations and stakeholder requests.\r\nTroubleshoot plant process and sampling-related issues.\nClean and maintain sampling containers (cylinders) to prevent contamination.\r\nComplete data entry and maintain accurate records.\r\nReceive, log, and track samples within SampleManager.\nOperational Support\r\nSupport stakeholders on projects, research and development initiatives, and operational optimization activities.\r\nCommunicate effectively with Operations regarding plant issues that may impact sampling activities, safety, or production.\nIdentify issues that may impact safety, environmental performance, or production.\r\nEnsure appropriate communication and documentation between shifts, including crossover notes and operational updates.\nContinuous Improvement & Training\r\nDemonstrate proficiency with approved software and systems applicable to the role.\r\nIdentify opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and efficiencies.\r\nTrain and mentor new Field Lab Technicians on sampling procedures, best practices, and safety requirements.\n\nSuccessful candidates will have:Make decisions based on what is best for, Treat all individuals with respect, both within and outside the organization.\r\nCollaborate effectively to achieve shared goals and leverage expertise across teams.\nCommunicate openly, listen actively, and foster positive working relationships.\r\nNever compromise on safety.
