This position provides technical knowledge to operators to increase their skills and help them perform their job in a successful manner. The Area Production Manager has the ultimate responsibility for operations and quality in the department area.\nWhere you will drive value:\nProvide training and coaching to ensure compliance with Safety standards and incident prevention. Conduct work in a safe manner and abide by all company safety policies.\nResponsible for operation of workers and equipment in the production of high quality/ high value products while applying learned knowledge of processes involved and production methods.\nTrain employees in work methods and procedures. Develop Standard Operating Procedures for the department and communicate expectations to supervisors and hourly employees. \nProvide feedback to supervisors to help coordinate activities of workers engaged in manufacturing handled at the highest level of quality.\nPlan and develop systems and procedures to improve quality and efficiency of the department. Support the delivery of operational excellence through excellent execution via the use of operational improvement tools such as AOS, Run to Target, Focused Improvement, and Direction Setting.\nAnalyze laboratory data, data trending, and react accordingly data trending. \nAct as mentor to supervisors and employees to ensure compliance with the inspection of product to verify conformance to specifications and direct setup and adjustments of machines.\nDemonstrate good mechanical skills and understanding with ability to communicate and work with the maintenance department so that all equipment is maintained at the highest level to reduce unnecessary down time. Provide guidance to supervisors and hourly employees as needed to increase their mechanical skills. \nCoach supervisors and hourly employees in the department to follow company standard Good Manufacturing Practices in their daily production runs. \nMaintain compliance with food safety programs and HACCP. \nAble to complete and/or assist in the duties of all jobs related to production when circumstances demand.\nManage reporting of yields, recovery and maximize opportunities. Act as a coach and mentor to help supervisors and hourly employees understand the process. \nWhat will enable you to have an impact:\nBachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Business, Operations Management, or any other related field preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.\nMinimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing required.\nMinimum five (5) years of experience in a dairy and/or food production plant preferred.\n3-5 years Supervisory experience required.\nA role aligned with what creates the greatest collective impact.\n#CH-1\nAgropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins.
