Being part of the team means committing to an environment where everyone’s impact truly matters.\nAt Agropur, each role aims to generate value and have a tangible impact on collective performance.\nContext to maximize your impact:\nRecognition of years of service for vacation calculation\n\nFlexible remote work\n\nFlexible group insurance plan including telemedicine services\n\nEmployee assistance program\n\nOpportunities to invest in yourself (career development, etc.)\n\nRetirement plan with company contributions\n\nBright offices surrounded by nature, offering a variety of services (free indoor parking, gym, daycare, etc.)\n\nSalary scale 005: $84,600$ to $105,800 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)\n\nWhere you will drive value:\nLead, coach, and schedule the Power Engineering and Refrigeration team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.\n\nEnsure the safe operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration, steam generation, utilities, and related systems.\n\nRespond to equipment failures and emergencies, coordinate repairs, and minimize operational downtime.\n\nTroubleshoot complex operational issues and provide technical guidance to support team performance.\n\nIdentify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and utility consumption.\n\nSupport maintenance and capital projects by providing technical expertise and coordinating activities with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards governing boilers, pressure vessels, refrigeration systems, and environmental requirements.\n\nAct as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and support site audits and inspections.\n\nDevelop and maintain operating procedures, training programs, and competency plans for Power Engineering personnel.\n\nPartner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Health & Safety teams to support plant objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nManage departmental documentation, contractor activities, and compliance records.\n\nPromote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while living the organization's core values.\n\nWhat will enable you to have an impact:\nClass 1 Refrigeration Plant Operator Certification and a minimum Class 3 Steam/Boiler Operator Certification.\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems in an industrial environment.\n\nExperience in food manufacturing, cold storage, or other industrial facilities utilizing large-scale refrigeration and utility systems.\n\nProven leadership experience with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of refrigeration, steam generation, utilities, equipment reliability, and maintenance best practices.\n\nExperience driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and preventive maintenance initiatives.\n\nAbility to build effective relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization.\n\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and making sound decisions under pressure.\n\nExperience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.\n\nWillingness to participate in on-call and emergency response activities as required.\n\nDemonstrated potential to grow into broader maintenance, engineering, or operations leadership roles.\n\nA role aligned with what creates the greatest collective impact.\nAgropur welcomes people from all backgrounds and origins.
