This role oversees the QC team, ensuring effective sampling, testing, and analysis, while driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Control Supervisor collaborates with production teams to resolve quality issues and plays a key role in audit readiness and compliance with food safety regulations.\nAn environment that allows you to focus on what truly matters:\nVacation entitlement based on recognition of years of service\nFlexible group insurance plan including telemedicine\nEmployee Assistance Program\nOpportunities to invest in your development (career growth, etc.)\nPension plan with employer contributions\nSalary Scale 004: $73,000 to $91,200 (Base salary will be determined according to your academic background, experience, training, and position-related competencies.)\nYour role in achieving results:\nPlans, directs, and controls activities related to their department (e.g., equipment and production site maintenance, laboratory supervision).\nSupervise QC technicians, ensuring proper execution of testing and inspection of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.\nOversee daily sampling and testing activities, ensuring alignment with the plant’s quality plan and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)/Food Safety Plan Process Controls (PC’s).\nManage quality control documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs), testing reports, and calibration records and electronic system reports.\nProvide supporting analysis for root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conforming products or lab related processes.\nEnsure preventative maintenance and replacement program for lab equipment is maintained, and that laboratory safety standards are met.\nLead internal audits and prepare the site for external audits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.\nTrain and mentor QC staff, ensuring they are proficient in testing protocols, quality procedures, and food safety standards.\nProvide feedback regarding testing capabilities integrated with specification requirements and new product and process development.\nCollaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues and improve product consistency and food safety.\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends related to quality control, including lab efficiency, product performance, and testing accuracy.\nAct as the main point of contact during customer, regulatory, and third-party audits for QC related responsibilities.\nAssist in the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to quality control.\nEnsure continuous quality improvement by analyzing quality trends and implementing quality process improvements.\nMaintain communication with procurement to ensure inventory of lab supplies is adequate and necessary materials and equipment are available.\nProvide feedback and reports to management team regarding quality performance, technical efficiencies, and cost saving opportunities.\nWhat we are looking for to deliver these results:\nCollege diploma or university degree in Food Science and Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or another relevant field.\n3 to 5 years of relevant experience in quality control, laboratory operations, or quality assurance within the food industry.\nPrevious experience managing a team required, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environment.\nGood knowledge of food safety and quality standards and programs, including HACCP and CFIA requirements.\nKnowledge of sanitation activities, including cleaning programs, CIP systems, and pre-operational inspections, considered an asset.\nProficiency with Excel; knowledge of SAP considered an asset.\nKnowledge of dairy processing considered an asset.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
