This position is also responsible for product orders, assigning tasks to the Retail Store Associate position and serves as a point of contact for vendors. The Retail Store Associate Lead is responsible for proper opening/closing procedures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nGreet customers entering the establishment, contributing to a positive guest experience by exceeding their expectations and preparing orders to their specifications.\nMaintain an orderly and clean check out area.\nRun the cash register; receiving payment by cash, check, or credit card and issuing receipts, refunds, or change as needed.\nPerform reconciliation of cash drawer, ensuring amounts are correct and that adequate change is available.\nMaintain adequate stocking of shelves, cleanliness, and organization of work area throughout the day.\nPrice products.\nPrepare and distribute sampling products to customers.\nCook and prepare food items per our standards of quality, consistency and timelines.\nOperate equipment safely as determined by organization safety standards.\nEnsure compliance with all health code requirements and organization standards.\nTake shipping orders.\nMaintain store keys.\nCoordinate the assignment of tasks to the Retail Store Associate.\nResponsible for counting money for the safe.\nOrder product as needed.\nServe as vendor point of contact.\nBreak down blocks of cheese and cut to correct specifications.\nResponsible for counting money for the safe and taking deposit to bank in absence of management.\nResponsible for employee and guest safety in absence of management.\nEnsure all temperatures are within acceptable limits and proper rotation of product is in place.\nResponsible for taking inventory during bi-annual store inventories.\nProvide comprehensive training all year for regular and seasonal employees.\nCoordinate invoicing and picking of product for Weyauwega and Luxemburg deliveries.\nCoordinate invoicing and picking of product for special events (i.e., Cheesefest, Breakfast on the Farm, etc.)\nResponsible for cleaning and sanitizing store when cleaning service is unavailable or did not provide adequate service.\nResponsible for processing all donations for store.\nAssist management with updating SOP’s and training plan as necessary.\nOther Duties and Responsibilities:\nLearn how to prepare Fudge/Cheese Fudge.\nOpen and close store.\nAssist in completing Opening & Closing checklists and master cleaning schedule.\nGreet guests and assist customers to drive sales.\nMonitor back door receiving from start to finish.\nPut away orders in the walk-in cooler or storage room.\nMaintain food storage, receiving, stocking & rotating per food safety and organization standards.\nUnderstand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.\nSafety ProtocolStop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.\nCorrect or report any observed safety hazards.\nSupport safety policies and programs.\n\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.\nThe individual who will own this role\nEducation Required:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nExperience Required:\nMinimum five (5) years of experience in customer service, retail and/or food safe environment required.\nCertification/Licensure Required:\nFood Safety Certification required.\nResponsible Beverage certification required.\nHand jack and forklift required.\nSkills Required:\nDedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.\nBasic computer operational skills.\nBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).\nExcellent telephone and oral communication skills.\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.\nDemonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nExhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.\nAA/EEO - Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity\nWhere you’ll be working:\nSimon’s Specialty Cheese continues to be synonymous with world class cheese and carries the full range of the company’s award-winning Cheddar, Feta, Mozzarella, Provolone and our signature fresh squeaky cheese curds.
