This role ensures that material formulations are prepared according to production specifications and quality standards to support continuous extrusion operations. The operator will safely operate high-speed mixers, material handling equipment, and batching systems while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nFollow all plant safety procedures and wear required PPE.\nSafely handle powders and chemical additives.\nMaintain proper dust control and housekeeping practices.\nFollow lockout/tagout procedures when required.\nStage materials including stabilizers, processing aids, pigments, and other additives.\nVerify material lot numbers and ensure correct materials are used for each batch.\nOperate high-speed hot mixers and cooling mixers.\nMonitor mixer temperature, mixing time, and batch consistency.\nEnsure proper blending of materials to meet product specifications.\nOperate and monitor high-speed mixers, cooling mixers, conveyors, bulk material handling systems, and batching systems.\nPerform basic troubleshooting of mixing equipment.\nEnsure batches meet established formulation and process standards.\nInspect material consistency, color, and blending quality.\nReport any material or equipment abnormalities immediately.\nMaintain batch records and production logs.\nFollow all plant safety procedures and wear required PPE.\nSafely handle powders and chemical additives.\nMaintain proper dust control and housekeeping practices.\nFollow lockout/tagout procedures when required.\nAssist with raw material inventory management.\nManually load materials as needed.\nEnsure materials are stored properly to prevent contamination.\nMaintain a clean and organized mixing area.\nClean mixers and surrounding equipment as required.\nDispose of waste materials according to company procedures.\nMust learn to operate a crane.\nMust get LTO certified\nBe able to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout the shift.\nQualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.\n1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or material batching/mixing operations preferred.\nExperience in SPC flooring, plastics, PVC compounding, or extrusion is highly desirable.\nRequired Skills\nAbility to follow detailed material formulations and batch instructions\nBasic math and measurement skills\nAbility to operate industrial mixing equipment\nStrong attention to detail and quality control\nAbility to work safely around powders and chemicals\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs\nForklift experience preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods\n\nAbility to lift and handle raw material bags and buckets up to 50lbs\n\nAbility to work in environments with dust and industrial noise\n\nAbility to wear required PPE including respirators when necessary\n\nWork Environment\nIndustrial manufacturing environment with exposure to raw material powders, mechanical equipment, and elevated noise levels. Employees must follow all safety and housekeeping standards.
