following scope:\nHuman as a Data Source:\n- Acquiring customers and enhancing user engagement through personalization\n- Understanding behaviors and extracting insights both online and offline\n- Creating new experiences based on these technologies and insights\nHuman as a Data User:\n- Developing AI and data science technologies that are user-friendly for data analysts and creators\n- Enhancing interaction technologies for improved usability and effectiveness\nResponsibilities\nResearch and develop machine learning algorithms\nPropose novel customer value using machine learning and data science techniques\nDesign and develop prototype applications with development partners\nWork closely with business divisions including entertainment, financial, and electronics domain in the Sony group\nPublish research papers about these activities\nRequired qualifications\nMaster's or doctoral degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistics, econometrics or related fields\nProficiency in mathematics, statistical analysis, and data mining\nExperience in data analytics projects on actual product data and applying machine learning models\n2+ years experience with Python programming\nAbility to speak and write in English fluently.\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with one or more of the following: causal inference, off-policy learning/evaluation, ITE/CATE estimation, multi-armed bandit problem, recommender algorithms, or similar.\nPublishing research papers to top-tier conferences like NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, KDD, WSDM, RecSys or similar.\nExperience in applying machine learning to solve problems of marketing, user engagement, and user interaction in commercial services.\nExperience in handling both research and development, especially with business organizations.\nHaving Kaggle expert/master/grandmaster status\nStrong interest in Japanese language and Japanese culture\n Product, Service\nOnline & hybrid
