The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey-both directly and indirectly.\nTo support AIA’s mission of helping customers live healthier, longer, and better lives, the Data Scientist, AI Application will support the organisation’s Technology, Data and Analytics (TDA) transformation by contributing to the design, implementation, and adoption of AI-enabled solutions. The role will work closely with business and technology teams to understand business requirements, assist in solution design activities, and help translate business needs into practical and scalable technology solutions.\nThe role will assist in evaluating AI use cases, conducting research, supporting proof-of-concept activities, and helping delivery the solutions while aligning with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and governance guidelines.\nBeyond project delivery, the role will support knowledge-sharing initiatives, maintain project and solution repositories, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Through collaboration with cross-functional teams, ongoing learning, and a strong focus on stakeholder engagement to drive the successful delivery and adoption of AI solutions across the organisation.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nStrategic AI Leadership & Innovation (30%)\nSupport the delivery of AI initiatives by researching emerging AI technologies, industry trends, and business use cases that may enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.\nContribute to AI program and roadmap activities by gathering requirements, documenting opportunities, and assisting with the planning and tracking of AI-related projects.\nAssist in AI solution assessment and experimentation, supporting prototyping, testing, and feasibility studies under the guidance of senior team members and subject matter experts.\nCollaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand user needs, collect feedback, and help ensure AI solutions align with business objectives and operational requirements.\nPromote awareness and adoption of AI capabilities by supporting knowledge-sharing activities, preparing presentations or materials, and communicating project outcomes to relevant stakeholders.\nContinuously build AI and digital skills by staying informed of new technologies, best practices, and organisational standards, applying learning to support ongoing AI initiatives.\nAI Solution Design, Research & Delivery (50%)\nSupport the design and implementation of AI solutions by assisting with requirements gathering, data analysis, solution documentation, and testing activities to address business needs.\nConduct research on AI, machine learning, and generative AI technologies, summarising findings and identifying potential applications to improve business processes and customer experiences.\n Deliver proof-of-concept (POC) and prototyping activities, helping to validate solution feasibility, assess business value, and gather stakeholder feedback.\nContribute to innovation initiatives by exploring new tools, techniques, and best practices, and sharing insights with team members to support continuous improvement.\nSupport solution testing, validation, and deployment activities, ensuring deliverables meet business requirements and established quality standards.\nDevelop practical AI user cases through hands-on project experience, training, and continuous learning, applying new knowledge to support ongoing AI initiatives.\nBusiness Communication, Stakeholder Alignment & Change Management (20%)\nAct as a strategic bridge between business and technology, translating business vision into AI solution strategies and executable architecture designs.\nCommunicate complex AI concepts, solution architectures, and trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders and governance forums.\nInfluence long-term technology direction and drive adoption of AI capabilities across AIA Group.\nAct as a thought leader in AI and digital transformation, shaping innovation agendas and elevating engineering and solution design maturity across the organisation.\nDemonstrates strong ownership of outcomes by proactively identifying risks, driving issue resolution, and ensuring delivery commitments are met with high quality and timeliness.\nMinimum Job Requirements:\nMust Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, science, or related fields, or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.\nRelevant experience in AI projects delivery role\nExperience in distributed system tools, such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Redis, Kafka, etc.\nHands on project experience in generative AI tech stack\nCustomer focus to understand customer pain points and deliver value add tech solution to customers\nGood team player\nStrong communication skills in English, Mandarin, or Cantonese\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in DevOps, ML Ops and LLM Ops.\nExperience in Agile/Scrum software development process.\nYou are required to obtain the relevant license(s) if your job involves regulated activities\nBuild a career with us as we help our customers and the community live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.\nYou must provide all requested information, including Personal Data, to be considered for this career opportunity.
