Innovation in IT drives innovation across the organization.\nHow you will create an impact\nThe Database Security Engineer is responsible for implementing security systems that will provide detection, prevention, containment and deterrence mechanisms to protect and maintain the integrity of data at AIG. The Database Security Engineer is a key position in providing protection and assurance on the controls safeguarding the information assets.\nSpecifically, the position is responsible for:\nDesigning, developing, testing, documenting, monitoring, and implementing information and database security solutions to enforce security strategies and support to new/existing systems in accordance with policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.\n\nServe as a trusted partner to business, operations, development, risk and compliance teams providing database security subject matter expert (SME) guidance and analysis.\n\nManaging a database activity monitoring (DAM) platform for security and audit compliance, including policy creation, event and trend analysis, performance monitoring and infrastructure maintenance.\n\nDeveloping and maintaining database security standards, guidelines and procedures for hardening database configurations, users and roles, profiles, etc.\n\nRefining and enhancing existing controls, policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to prevent the unauthorized use, release, modification, or destruction of data.\n\nEvaluating updates to new/existing database security controls by determining the strengths/weaknesses and coordinate the testing and implementation of the new/enhanced controls with all business partners that are affected.\n\nIdentifying weak links in information security products and determine how to mitigate the control deficiencies.\n\nEnhancing preventive systems used to stop and/or deter security breaches.\n\nEvaluating database security patches from vendors and assesses potential risk and work with stakeholders to address vulnerabilities.\n\nWorking with database custodians at different levels of the organization to understand their respective security needs and assist with implementing practices and procedures consistent with the information security policy.\n\nConducting and identifying database security compliance issues and ensure that any non-compliance to security baseline configurations are identified, tracked and assigned to stakeholders for remediation.\n\nWorking with internal and external auditors to demonstrate and provide evidence of security controls are adherence to regulatory compliance.\n\nWhat you'll need to succeed\n5+ years of Database Security Engineer experience\n\nAbility to understand security risks and controls, to analyze various methods of controlling information security problems, determine the strengths and weaknesses of each method and implement the best cost-justified solution\n\nDetailed knowledge of major database platforms such as Oracle, SQLSERVER, MySQL, etc.\n\nWorking knowledge of at least two or more operating systems and corresponding security systems in use at the Bank (Linux, Unix, Windows, etc.)\n\nIdentify weak links in information security products and determine how to mitigate the control deficiencies\n\nMaintain familiarity with industry trends and current security practices\n\nDemonstrate ability to manage complex projects in an effective manner This includes the ability to prepare detailed task plans outlining all requirements to complete the given assignment\n\nEvaluate business process and application software, which effect the integrity, functionality, and reliability of the Bank's network and systems\n\nPassionate, positive and driven attitude\n\nGood communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills\n\nReliable time management and organization skills\n\nDemonstrates the ability to convey technical findings in simple language\n\nProactive mindset and actions\n\nAptitude to lead complex efforts with minimal supervision\n\nWillingness to collaborate across the organization\n\nAbility to lead complex efforts with minimal supervision\n\nProven ability to work independently and as a team member\n\nFlexibility to work in varying business functions and capabilities\n\nCapability to adapt to new and changing environment and handle multiple priorities, including to learn quickly\n\nSkills\nDatabase security, monitoring and protection\n\nDatabase activity monitoring platforms such as Imperva Data Security and Data Risk Analytics (DRA)\n\nImperva Data Security Specialist (IDSS) certification strongly preferred\n\nIn-depth working knowledge of databases and database technologies\n\nFamiliarity with AWS technologies and methods including RDS (Relational Database Service)\n\nData protection\n\nDatabase Firewall\n\nData Loss Prevention (DLP)\n\nData Classification\n\nVulnerability detection and mitigation\n\nCybersecurity experience in regulated banking or financial environment\n\nTop 10 banking (Strongly preferred)\n\nInformation security\n\nPenetration testing and attack forensics\n\nIT risk management\n\nIS audit\n\nGRC Tools & Processes\n\nAt AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.
