AIG

American International Group is an insurer founded in Shanghai in 1919 that grew into one of the largest financial institutions in the world before its near-collapse in 2008, when losses on credit default swaps written against mortgage securities forced the largest government rescue of a single company in American history. It has spent the years since dismantling that conglomerate, separating its life and retirement business as Corebridge and selling numerous units, and it now concentrates on commercial property and casualty insurance. Headquartered in New York, it is a considerably smaller and simpler company than the one that failed.

Scope

This is an opportunity to join a high-impact marketing team focused on advancing key business priorities.

We are seeking a seasoned marketing professional to support Distribution and Field leadership, by translating business priorities into clear, effective marketing strategies that strengthen broker and client engagement, support go-to-market priorities and elevate the consistency and impact of marketing programs.

The Distribution organization is structured across three core engagement areas: retail broker engagement, wholesale broker engagement, and client engagement, each with distinct audiences, relationship priorities, and growth objectives. Serving as the key marketing partner across all three areas, this role will help strengthen relationships, deepen market engagement, and support growth through integrated marketing initiatives.

This role will also help drive a robust North America events strategy aligned to priority growth areas and designed to elevate our market presence.

The position also supports the development and activation of industry-focused marketing strategies, while also advancing account-based marketing efforts to support priority clients.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, North America, this role will connect marketing efforts to business outcomes.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can operate at pace, manage multiple priorities, and translate business needs into clear, effective marketing execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to Distribution and Field leadership

  • Lead marketing initiatives aligned to retail broker engagement, wholesale broker engagement, and client engagement priorities to help strengthen relationships and support growth objectives

  • Drive the development and marketing activation of industry-focused client offerings aligned to strategic growth and target priorities

  • Develop and execute campaigns, content, and communications aligned to business priorities

  • Support client and broker events, including messaging, materials, and follow-up

  • Improve the clarity, consistency, and effectiveness of distribution communications

  • Manage timelines and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality consistent outputs

  • Bring structure and discipline to planning, prioritization, and execution

  • Coordinate across the Wholesale and Retail marketing teams to ensure alignment with broader campaigns and messaging

  • Remain current on emerging AI trends, tools, and best practices relevant to marketing and communications

  • Manage and mentor the distribution marketing manager providing clear direction and performance expectations

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years in B2B financial marketing, sales enablement, and distribution

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align marketing positioning, broker and client engagement, and growth opportunities

  • Strong understanding of brokers, clients, and distribution models, ideally in financial services or professional services

  • Experience working closely with distribution, broker, and client networks

  • Experience establishing and supporting account-based marketing

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into clear actionable marketing

  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and distribution teams

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and execution skills

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field). Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus
