AIG

American International Group is an insurer founded in Shanghai in 1919 that grew into one of the largest financial institutions in the world before its near-collapse in 2008, when losses on credit default swaps written against mortgage securities forced the largest government rescue of a single company in American history. It has spent the years since dismantling that conglomerate, separating its life and retirement business as Corebridge and selling numerous units, and it now concentrates on commercial property and casualty insurance. Headquartered in New York, it is a considerably smaller and simpler company than the one that failed.

At AIG, we are reimagining the way we help customers to manage risk. Join us as a Global Account Manager to play your part in that transformation. It’s an opportunity to grow your skills and experience as a valued member of the team.

The Global Account Manager is responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives across the global account portfolio. Reporting to the AVP, Global Account Manager, this role is responsible for meeting our client commitments, managing key components of new program launches, and supporting growth initiatives.

This role sits within account management but operates across functions, driving alignment, accountability, and progress across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives. This role ensures that strategic priorities and client commitments are translated into clear, executable plans and delivered successfully across the organization.

We are seeking an individual who can operate independently, bring structure to ambiguity, and effectively coordinate across teams, while also developing the materials and analysis needed to support decision-making.

How You Will Create an Impact

  • Partner directly with the Global Account Manager to support execution of key account initiatives, including program launches, customer experience, expansions, and operational changes across multiple markets
  • Translate business development strategies and client commitments into clear action plans with defined owners, timelines, and dependencies
  • Track progress, identify risks, and proactively drive resolution of issues
  • Have a strong understanding of the different regulatory market requirements
  • Experience building business cases, summaries, and structured reporting
  • Serve as the central point of coordination across legal, underwriting, claims, finance, product, and IT to align on priorities and deliverables
  • Ensure teams are coordinated and informed, with clear expectations and timelines
  • Escalate and help resolve blockers impacting delivery
  • Communicate with client counterparts to maintain alignment on timing and deliverables
  • Bring structure to how initiatives are tracked and executed across the account (timelines, trackers, dependencies)
  • Maintain documentation and working files to support transparency and continuity across initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Learn pricing and P&Ls to ensure track efficiencies and measure post launch success
  • Support preparation for internal and client-facing updates, including QBRs and executive readouts
  • Track KPIs and understand how we measure success across our different programs

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • 3-5 years of experience in account management, operations, program delivery, or similar roles within complex environments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to operate independently and drive progress without constant direction
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in insurance, warranty, or service contract programs is preferred
  • Experience supporting global or multi-market initiatives is preferred

At AIG, we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture, which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office. This approach helps us work together effectively and create a supportive, connected environment for our team and clients alike.

Enjoy benefits that take care of what matters
