Every hire matters here.\nAbout the role\nAGent is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to own testing and quality across our entire technology stack - from cloud backend and IoT device communication to embedded firmware and customer-facing applications. This is a mission-critical role at a company where reliability isn't a nice-to-have: when our platform tells a generator to run, it has to run. Every time.\nYou'll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, embedded systems, and real-time energy operations - designing and executing test strategies that ensure our platform performs flawlessly across all layers. You'll partner closely with our Cloud Backend, Application Engineering, and Embedded teams to catch issues early, build robust automated test coverage, and raise the quality bar across everything AGent ships.\nThis is a hands-on, end-to-end QA role for someone who takes pride in being the last line of defense before code reaches production - and who understands that in critical energy infrastructure, quality is never negotiable.\nResponsibilities\nEnd-to-End Test Strategy & Execution\nDesign, build, and maintain comprehensive test strategies that cover the full AGent platform - cloud backend, IoT device communication, embedded firmware, and customer-facing application layers\nDevelop and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test suites across all platform components\nOwn test planning for new features and releases, working closely with engineering leads to ensure quality is built in from the start - not bolted on at the end\nMaintain clear documentation of test coverage, results, and known issues across the platform\nCloud & Backend Testing\nTest AWS infrastructure components including IoT Core device provisioning, Lambda functions, and data ingestion pipelines\nValidate TimescaleDB schema performance and data integrity under high-volume, high-frequency telemetry loads\nTest API integrations, data pipelines, and backend services for reliability, accuracy, and performance at scale\nIoT & Embedded Testing\nDevelop and execute test protocols for IoT device communication, provisioning workflows, and command handling between cloud and embedded systems\nPartner with the Embedded Engineering team to validate firmware behavior, device-to-cloud messaging, and real-time control event accuracy\nBuild test environments and simulation frameworks that replicate real-world generator behavior and edge conditions\nAutomation & CI/CD Integration\nBuild and maintain automated test suites integrated into AGent's CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions\nImplement automated regression coverage that catches issues before they reach production\nContinuously improve test efficiency, coverage, and reliability through automation and tooling\nQuality Advocacy & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Cloud Backend, Application, and Embedded Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle - not just at the end\nIdentify, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and prioritization recommendations\nContribute to post-incident reviews and help drive process improvements that prevent recurrence\nActively use Claude AI and other AI tools to accelerate test case generation, documentation, and defect analysis - and bring a continuous improvement mindset to how AI can raise quality across the team\nQualifications\nRequired\n3-5 years of QA engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end test strategy and execution\nHands-on experience testing cloud-based systems - AWS experience strongly preferred\nFamiliarity with IoT systems, device communication protocols, and embedded or firmware testing\nExperience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines\nStrong SQL skills for data validation and backend testing\nExperience with Claude AI or other AI tools in a professional context, or a demonstrated eagerness to integrate AI into your QA workflow\nDetail-oriented with strong written communication skills -
