In this role, you will deliver a wide range of system administration support based on experience level, including implementing and managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux and derivative IT environments, as well as installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux-based operating systems and services.\n *This is an onsite position located at Ft. Meade and requires a TS/SCI w/FS Poly.*What You'll Do:\nSupport for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. \nManage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.\nProvide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.\nOversee day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.\nOptimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.\nSupport for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.\nConfigure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and install/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.\n Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. \n Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems. \n Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets. \nEducation/Experience/Skillset Required:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 10 years of experience as a System Administrator OR equivalent combination of education and experience.\n5 years’ experience with the following: Design, plan, installation, configuration, and sustainment of a Red Hat Linux (RHEL) environment.\n Creation of automation scripts for configuration, backup, and restoration using well known scripting languages (Bash/Perl)\n Performing Puppet system administration\n Installing software from YUM repositories, RPM Files, tar-balls, or source code\n Researching, acquiring, and applying IAVA patches\n Unix/Linux command line\n VMWare architecture, Installation and configuration. Experience with facilitating failover with VMotion, VMWare template library, and VMWare monitoring capability\n Salt to manage complex IT environments across multiple operating systems\n\n3 years’ experience in implementing OS level clustering.\nNIFI experience is preferred.\nAn active certification related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration, such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.\nClearance Required: Active TS/SCI w/FS Poly\nAA / Disability / Veteran US Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000\nThe salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience.
