This is a unique opportunity to learn state of the art technologies at an industry leader, as well as to contribute to the creation of the Air Canada of tomorrow.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop and manage full-stack applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native architectures.\nDesign and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and business logic using Java, Node.js, or similar technologies.\nBuild responsive, accessible, and high-performance front-end interfaces using React, Angular, or equivalent.\nEnsure seamless integration between front-end and back-end systems using Air Canada’s Enterprise Integration Platform.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that supports long-term scalability.\nDevelop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability.\nOptimize performance across the stack-front-end responsiveness, backend efficiency, and database tuning.\nApply modern design principles such as microservices, serverless architecture, and modular components.\nCollaborate with product owners, designers, QA, and DevOps to align on goals and deliverables.\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.\nLeverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and encourage adoption across the team.\nContribute to system documentation and onboarding materials to support team knowledge sharing.\nStay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to improve product performance and user experience.\nLead product lifecycle activities including debugging, performance tuning, and post-release support.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in full-stack software development.\nStrong proficiency in Java and Node.js (2+ years).\nExperience building and integrating with mission-critical APIs.\nHands-on experience with:Front-end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue.js\nBackend frameworks: Express.js, NestJS, Spring Boot\nDatabases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase\nAPI protocols and specifications: REST, SOAP, OpenAPI, Swagger\nCloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP\nCI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation\n\nStrong understanding of application security, performance optimization, and data protection.\nFamiliarity with AI integration and emerging technologies.\nDemonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.\nAssets\nExperience with Mulesoft or other Java-based ESBs (IBM IIB, Tibco).\nExposure to API management platforms (Apigee, IBM API Connect, Mulesoft).\nExperience with content management systems (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager).\nBackground in airline or travel industry.\nAgile development experience in cross-functional teams.\nUnderstanding of team dynamics between Product Owner, Scrum Master, and development team.\nConditions of Employment:\nCandidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment.
