This role serves as a technical resource within the organization, ensuring that HVAC equipment is properly identified, selected, priced, and presented in accordance with project requirements.\nThe Application Engineer works closely with Sales Engineers, Estimators, Project Support, manufacturers, and customers to provide accurate and timely solutions throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, organized, and comfortable working with mechanical drawings and HVAC equipment.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nPrimary:\nReview mechanical plans, schedules, specifications, and project documents to identify HVAC equipment requirements.\nPerform detailed equipment take-offs from mechanical drawings.\nIdentify equipment quantities, types, sizes, configurations, accessories, and applicable options.\nReview equipment schedules and specifications to ensure proposed equipment meets project requirements.\nSelect appropriate HVAC products based on project requirements, specifications, performance criteria, and application.\nUtilize manufacturer selection and pricing software to properly configure equipment.\nObtain and apply current factory pricing to equipment selections.\nPrepare accurate and competitive quotes based on project requirements.\nDevelop professional proposals that clearly communicate equipment, quantities, product descriptions, accessories, options, pricing, lead times, scope of work, exclusions, clarifications, and applicable terms and conditions.\nProvide technical and estimating support to Sales Engineers throughout the bidding and sales process.\nAssist sales team members in understanding equipment applications, product differences, and selection requirements.\nWork with manufacturers and factory representatives when additional technical assistance or clarification is required.\nIdentify discrepancies, missing information, or potential issues within project documents and communicate them to the appropriate team members.\nReview proposals and equipment selections for accuracy, completeness, and consistency prior to release.\nAdditional:Participate in manufacturer and internal product training to continually expand technical knowledge.\nStay current on new products, product enhancements, applications, and industry changes.\nDevelop proficiency with manufacturer selection software and tools.\nMaintain an understanding of HVAC fundamentals, equipment applications, and industry terminology.\nTrack and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.\nMeet assigned quote deadlines and communicate potential delays proactively.\nMaintain accurate information in company systems and estimating/CRM tools.\nAssist in improving estimating, quoting, and proposal processes, templates, and procedures.\nMaintain organized project files and documentation.\nHelp identify alternate products or solutions when appropriate.\nParticipate in project review meetings and assist with complex or high-value opportunities.\nExperience and Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar required\nAbility to interpret mechanical plans, schedules, specifications, and construction documents.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy when working with large and complex construction documents.\nAbility to learn and apply manufacturer-specific product knowledge.\nAbility to learn and utilize manufacturer selection and pricing software.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to communicate technical information clearly.\nAbility to work collaboratively with Sales Engineers, Estimators, Project Support, manufacturers, and customers.\nUnderstanding of HVAC fundamentals, equipment applications, and industry terminology.\nDetail-oriented, technically curious, and organized.\nWillingness to participate in ongoing product training and technical development.\n Benefits:We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:\nMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance\n401(k) Retirement Plan with company match\nLife Insurance & Health Savings Account (HSA)\nShort-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance\nCritical Illness & Accident Coverage\nPet Insurance\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nPaid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays\nThe Company provides equal employment opportunity in accordance with applicable laws and prohibits discrimination and harassment.
