This position provides technical advice and expertise on specific controls to support our internal/external customers. The Controls Application Engineer frequently assesses the functionality of the program to maximize the unit’s capability to the customer’s satisfaction. The Controls Application Engineer may supervise and coordinate the activities of the Controls Team.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability, and physical demands required.\nGathers information from customers on their needs and designs and develops a software program for controls that match their needs.\nAssures the program continues to work properly, while making recommendations for future testing, upgrades and maintenance.\nFrequently dials in through a cradle point to troubleshoot issues.\nConfers with Service & Controls Leadership to develop methods and procedures to increase productivity, sales, expand markets, and promote business.\nWorks directly with the Service Coordinator and/or Project Manager, providing guidance when needed as scheduling, invoicing and billing issues arise.\nProvides technicians with assistance in performing difficult or complicated duties.\nAttends company meetings to exchange product information and coordinate work activities with other departments.\nCoordinates safety training and professional development for the Team.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\nCompetencies:\nComputer Skills - Needs to be highly knowledgeable about how to use computers and software. Ability to resolve common inquiries and complaints.\nExperience and Requirements:\n2- or 4-year degree from an accredited trade school, college, or university preferred\nMinimum 5 years of leadership experience\nProgramming knowledge and certifications with Tridium/Niagara, CPT, Reliable, KMC, etc. a plus\nConfiguration knowledge of AAON Controllers, etc. a plus\nValid in-state Driver’s License and clean driving record required. Carrier requirements are 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years driving experience. Extensive travel is required with occasional overnight stays.\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 60 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to frequently move about inside tight and cramped space. They constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and making adjustments as necessary.\nThis position works in various settings, with some outdoor exposure during the day. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
