The Airworthiness Coordinator will deliver qualified/certified products in alignment with the engineering operation, design office business plan, general Airbus Group policies and guidelines in agreed time, performance, quality and costs.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelopment of Projects Certification:\nCoordinate the certification activities of individual projects in accordance with the DAPM and the engineering procedures, from application to approval.\n\nDefine, verify and validate all documents necessary to demonstrate compliance to certification requirements in accordance with engineering operations as elaborated during offer phases to meet customer, airworthiness, general engineering standards and company requirements.\n\nDetermine extent of affected airworthiness standards, proposed basis of certification and means of compliance with affected standards.\n\nAct as AHCA’s primary point of contact with the appropriate TCCA regional certification engineer for specific projects.\n\nCreate and maintain certification project files for each project undertaken by AHCA.\n\nContinuous Airworthiness Activities:\nMonitor the continued airworthiness of products for which AHCA holds design approval certificates and arrange for corrective action as required.\n\nAttend Continuous Airworthiness Board meetings for Airbus Helicopters North America.\n\nManage the DAO:\nSupport the definition, implementation, maintenance and approval of the Design Approval Procedures Manual and all relevant engineering procedures.\n\nSupport the implementation of all technical audits necessary to verify the compliance of the engineering department against Design Approval Procedures Manual and relevant procedures. Implement any corrective actions as needed.\n\nRemain current with respect to TCCA and Foreign airworthiness standards.\n\nSupport the nomination of candidates for Designated Engineer positions.\n\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nUniversity Education; Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar.\n\nA Master's Degree is an asset.\n\nProfessional Engineer’s License (or eligibility) is an asset.\n\nTransport Canada delegation (or eligibility) is an asset.\n\nExperience\n7 years of experience working in a Technical, Engineering or Program capacity for an aerospace manufacturer.\n\n5 years of experience in Type Certificate or Supplemental Type Certificate development.\n\nRecent and direct working experience with TCCA on projects similar to those authorized under the AHCA DAO.\n\nExperience as Head of DAO and/or TCCA Delegate an asset.\n\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nStrong problem solving skills resulting in the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.\n\nAbility to read and interpret specification, functional analysis, technical note, drawings and technical reports.\n\nLeadership skills with emphasis on communication, new process development and managing large projects within diverse work groups.\n\nAble to collect, analyze and communicate design/manufacturing performance metrics.\n\nExperience with various levels of technical airworthiness responsibilities.\n\nRequires a thorough working knowledge of the AWMs (527 & 529 an asset).
