The Composite Assembly Technician is responsible for assembly of helicopter parts through various joining and bonding methods. The Composite Assembly Technician fits parts together through the use of jigs, fixtures and using small hand and pneumatic tools.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nProduction\nJoining of composite to composite components through resin bonding, riveting, and fasteners.\nInstallation of fasteners to composites - nut plates and riv nuts.\nPotting of inserts into core - core removal, surface preparation, insert bonding.\nJoining of metallic components to composite through resin bonding, riveting, fasteners, etc.\nProper locating of components to be joined through cleco use and back drilling.\nUnderstanding of proper bonding techniques - surface preparation, resin mixing and curing methods.\nReworking of assemblies to remove minor imperfections.\nFitting of components to match drawing, MID or specifications for part.\nGrinding, sanding, trimming parts to fit.\nDry fitting of parts for proper layout procedure prior to installation / bonding.\nEnsuring proper torque values are met, torque striping of connections and safety wiring as required.\nWorking knowledge of IFMA’s and EI’s (specifications).\nEnsure all production orders are completed fully and properly with all traceability for all components.\nHigh attention to detail and mechanical ability.\nDepartmental Involvement\nTroubleshooting and recommendations for process/tooling/ergonomic/safety improvements.\nFoster health and safety in the workplace and knowledge of health and safety requirements.\nDemonstrate standard work practices to ensure quality standards are met.\nEnsure work areas and equipment are kept clean and neat - 5S and FOD free.\nAssist with work station set up.\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nExperience\nKnowledge of the operations processes and 3 years of experience performing them.\nKnowledge of small hand tools such as clamps, rivet guns, drills, grinders, taps, wrenches, knives and screwdrivers.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nKnowledge of quality requirements and how to effectively meet quality standards.\nTeamwork focus.\nAttention to detail.\nFollow standardized work instructions.\nBe able to use measuring instruments and ability to read blueprint.\nMechanical aptitude.\nService minded.\nExperience in aerospace industry preferred.\nOrganized Individual.\nWork independently under general supervision.\nTroubleshooting.\nAHCA is committed to inclusivity; therefore, accommodations can be made available for all applicants, except where a bona fide occupational requirement applies.\nThis job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.\nCompany:\nAirbus Helicopters Canada LtdEmployment Type:\nPermanent-------\nExperience Level:\nEntry LevelJob Family:\nComposite Manufacturing By submitting your CV or application you are consenting to Airbus using and storing information about you for monitoring purposes relating to your application or future employment.
