The Composite Layup Technician fabricates parts by working part specific materials into specific molds using hands and small hand tools.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nProduction/Layup Expertise\nFabricate parts using composite materials - prepreg or wet layup processes.\nStrong knowledge of composite lay-up techniques.\nPerform moulding for composite parts using engineered resigns with the aid of small hand tools.\nFabricate parts by using Manufacturing Instruction Documents (MIDs) and production orders as guides. \nUnderstanding of various production steps and processes.\nMeasure materials using basic metric measuring equipment.\nPrepare parts for autoclave process through bagging techniques.\nKeen awareness of the importance and impact their work has on downstream processes.\nRework composite part in order to correct small imperfections.\nReport to lead hand recommendations for process improvements and provide explanations and demonstrations as required.\nDepartmental Involvement\nFoster health and safety in the workplace and knowledge of health and safety requirements.\nDemonstrate standard work practices to ensure quality standards are met.\nEnsure work areas and equipment are kept clean & neat (Workplace OK).\nAssist with work station set up.\nUphold Airbus Values.\nStrive for continuous improvement in quality and performance.\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nExperience\nKnowledge of the operations processes.\nKnowledge of small hand tools such as knives, hammers, wrenches, putty knives, heat guns, scissors, drills, measuring tape, etc.\nDepth of knowledge of technical field.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nKnowledge of quality requirements and how to effectively meet quality standards.\nTeamwork focus.\nAttention to detail.\nFollow Manufacturing Instruction Documents and fill out all necessary paperwork.\nBe able to use measuring instruments (template, scale, lasers).\nStrong Communication Skills (Verbal & Written).\nService Minded.\nExperience in the aerospace industry is preferred.\nOrganized Individual.\nWork independently under general supervision.\nGood eye/hand coordination.\nAHCA is committed to inclusivity; therefore, accommodations can be made available for all applicants, except where a bona fide occupational requirement applies.\nThis job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.\nCompany:\nAirbus Helicopters Canada LtdEmployment Type:\nPermanent-------\nExperience Level:\nEntry LevelJob Family:\nComposite Manufacturing By submitting your CV or application you are consenting to Airbus using and storing information about you for monitoring purposes relating to your application or future employment.
