Intern on Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (d/f/m)

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Rüschpark

Are you wondering how to get from the university to Airbus? Your working student position is located at Rüschpark in Finkenwerder and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to Rüschpark and back to the university. Alternatively, you can take the ferry from the city center to Finkenwerder and then ride your bike for about 5 minutes to us.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The subject of this internship is to participate in SOFC research. You will have the opportunity to work with coating technologies, material and electrochemical characterization techniques:

• Tailoring the oxide based ceramic slurry

• Coating techniques

• Analyzing the morphology and electrical properties of metals and cermets (metal and ceramic composites)

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled student (d/f/m) within chemistry or similar field of study

• Experience in working in chemistry lab, especially handling materials & characterization techniques

• Knowledge on ceramic, polymer, metal materials and electrochemistry

• Skills in slurry optimization, thin film coating, high temperature ceramic processing and electrical characterizations is a plus

• Excellent analytical and research skills

• English: fluent

You are a good team player, have good communication skills, and are able to work independently.
