This role includes supporting Sr/Category Buyers who are managing Multi Functional teams (MFT’s), drum beating the various tendering project schedules, and assuring visibility and escalation of potential risks to achieving schedule and savings targets. The Project Buyer will also help facilitate the transition from tendering projects into operational ordering with the Buyers and Internal Customers.\nMeet the Team:\nYou will be part of a team that works in the field of propulsion, energy and aircraft systems, draws up preliminary technical specifications, analyzes concepts and technologies developed by external partners, evaluates their integration and associated benefits at the complete aircraft level, with the aim of improving the company's future products.\nYour Working Environment:\nThe Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe.\nThe Project Buyer will also be responsible for the acquisition of goods and/or services. They will follow and model Airbus approach on deliveries and contractual terms and conditions.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nProcurement Transactions (35%)\nFacilitate general procurement transactions to fill business needs and provide internal customers with goods and services in compliance with the General Procurement procedures and guidelines and with the respective commodity strategies and borderlines defined by the management organization to the customers’ complete satisfaction.\n\nEnsure full compliance of contract storage & data availability in the applicable tools (SAP, Click & Source & Click n Buy) for Category Buyers to prepare for MFT’s much more efficiently and Buyers to align operational ordering with contract scope.\n\nEstablish and ensure regular two-way communication with key functional and local customers; manage the integration with assigned General Procurement commodities in North America and worldwide.\n\nDrive Sourcing Projects (Call for Tenders) (35%)\nPreparation of spend data analysis available for preparation of tendering projects, contract amendment negotiations, and MFT preparation.\n\nPerform \"Local for Local\" procurement activities in alignment with the MFT strategy, based on GP terms and regulations.\n\nSupport “Global for Local” procurement activities to provide local insight and support to global and other regional buyers leading sourcing projects\n\nDeliver on initiatives contributing to Airbus Group’s Savings Programs using the levers of requirement harmonization/standardization, challenge of the specifications, volume aggregation and control of demand. Escalate blockages to Director or Regional Director, as needed.\n\nResponsible for creation and negotiation of contract terms and conditions and communicated with all stakeholders.\n\nTeam Leadership (10%)\nProvide leadership and coaching to less experienced team members\n\nProvide support & input to the Director to set realistic and achievable goals for the team based on suggested methods or operational improvements.\n\nProcurement & Process Tools Expert (10%)\nDrive compliance to Airbus General Procurement and related processes through robust communication with internal customers.\n\nResolve general procurement process blockages and recommend solutions to operational and contractual problems.\n\nReport savings to the Shared Services organization in a timely way through the standard mechanisms.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities (10%):\nDevelop a collaborative relationship with the various functions to understand and incorporate quality feedback into contact and negotiations with suppliers.\n\nMaintain cooperative relationships and engage with them in strategic and transactional activities to improve vendor relationships and increase customer satisfaction.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications/Basic Job Requirements (Skills needed):\nFive or more years of procurement experience with an increasingly higher level of authority and accountability.\n\nInvolvement in some fashion with the procurement organisation may be able to be considered “years of experience” on a case-by-case basis.\n\nProject management skills.\n\nKnowledge of additional functions including: finance, operations, negotiation and communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated effectiveness as a participant and leader on a work-focused team.\n\nExperience working in a manufacturing organisation or a similar quality-focused manufacturing organisation is highly desirable.\n\nEducation/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications):\nA Bachelors’ degree in Business or Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nProject Management, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Certifications are desirable\n\nFluency in English sufficient to fully engage in negotiations.
