You will be involved from the very beginning of the process (first concepts and preliminary design) through to end product certification.\nThe team is situated at the interface between many different engineering disciplines and works across many different projects, including the very latest research and technology projects focusing on sustainability and pioneering the next generation of aircraft. This role provides an exciting opportunity to work as part of a collaborative and supportive team. Our network of specialists and experts can help you to develop a broad knowledge of the integrated aircraft.\nTogether we will strive to optimise aircraft performance and meet the highest safety, sustainability and operational standards.\nYour main activities\nTo be successful in this role you will utilise or develop a broad range of skills to:\nEstablish requirements for Finite Element Model (FEM) loading and wing airframe design and ensure the overall aircraft loads calculation process is shaped to meet these requirements.\nCalculate, interpret and deliver static and fatigue external loads acting on the wing components in adherence with the relevant airworthiness regulations, quality processes and programme assumptions.\nSupport the wing airframe design teams in their use of this data.\nSupport flight test campaigns to validate load calculations. \nAcquire competencies related to new technologies, such as, data analytics, Model Based Systems Engineering, Artificial Intelligence etc.\nContinuously improve quality, processes, methods and tools.\nEnsure a positive relationship and team spirit is maintained within the team and with all stakeholders.\nAs your knowledge and experience grows, you will be relied upon to contribute to aircraft optimization and identify and manage technical risk through innovative, multidisciplinary approaches.\nAbout you\nWe are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and team oriented individuals with the following skills and experience:\nAn engineering/STEM degree or equivalent relevant experience\nA good understanding of flight physics\nFamiliarity with Airframe disciplines, particularly static stress or Fatigue & Damage Tolerance\nExcellent communication, team working and interpersonal skills\nAn interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems and a willingness to learn and share knowledge with your colleagues \nThe ability to develop effective customer relationships\nA high regard for quality compliance and attention to detail\nBasic project management experience\nNegotiation level in English\nFamiliarity with Python, NASTRAN, HyperWorks, Linux and/or MATLAB will also help with the role, but if not, you’ll be able to learn.\nYour application\nPlease ensure that a CV and a covering letter, detailing your motivations and suitability for this position, is included in your application.\nSome of the team work flexibly in different ways, including part-time.
