This is a role for someone who gets energy from people: you'll hire, grow, and lead the team, set the tone for how we work in Split, and stay close enough to the code to guide the technical direction.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead, mentor, and grow the Backend (.NET) engineering team in Split, from day one\nBuild the team: take part in hiring, run onboarding, and help new colleagues settle in and get productive fast\nShape the team culture in the office: collaboration, ownership, feedback, and a healthy way of working\nPlan and prioritize the team's work, keep delivery on track, and remove blockers\nWork alongside the product team and QA to refine requirements and deliver features that exceed user expectations\nGuide technical decisions and architecture, and set the bar for code quality through code reviews and constructive feedback\nStay hands-on where it matters - contribute to backend services and APIs using modern .NET technologies\nKeep an eye on system monitoring, logging, and performance so the team's work stays reliable and observable\nStay up to date with new technologies, concepts, and best practices, and bring them to the team\nQualifications you bring:\nProven experience leading, mentoring, or managing software engineers, and a genuine interest in helping people grow\n5+ years of professional .NET development experience, with deep knowledge of .NET Core / .NET Framework\nStrong understanding of backend architecture patterns, microservices, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous processing\nFamiliarity with distributed systems, messaging platforms (e.g. Azure Service Bus), and event-driven architectures\nExperience with relational databases (MSSQL) and ORM tools like Entity Framework (EF/EF Core)\nUnderstanding of observability concepts (logging, tracing, metrics) and tools like New Relic, Seq, or similar\nStrong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tackling challenges\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills \nWhat we bring to the table.\nInnovation drives us, and we never stop asking \"what's next?\".\nAnd because great work deserves great perks, here's what you can expect from day one:\nGrowth isn't a buzzword here.
