Has an in-depth understanding of the following areas: compliance with Federal/State regulations, truck and trailer loading limits, cylinder markings, test dates, pressure ratings, ICC markings, placarding, hazardous material classifications, specialty gases, accident reporting, safety, and compliance. This position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the specialty gas lab, fill plant operation and distribution departments. Administers supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilitiesinclude but are not limited to training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \nPrevious operational management experience in industrial gas plants.\nGives direction to Plant Manager, Distribution Manager and Lab Manager as needed.\nPlans production operations, establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.\nResolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.\nWorking knowledge of applicable machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.\nWorks with Plant Manager and Distribution Manager to develop or revise standard operational and working practices. Observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.\nOverseas and assists with monthly cylinder inventory.\nWorks with the sales department to resolve customer issues.\nWorks closely with Human Resources to resolve personnel issues.\nCompiles, stores, and retrieves production data.\nVendor certification and compliance for working onsite.\nRegulator compliance with State and Federal regulations. (Hazmat, DOT, FDA ect.)\nManages managers of plant facilities, including distribution managers.\nOther duties may be assigned as dictated by the needs of the business.\n________________________\nAre you a MATCH?\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED required\n10+ years experience in the bulk/gas industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a production environment in a chemical, gas or related industry.\nFDA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and Hazardous Materials experience.\nMust conduct audits and provide training on the Standard Operating Procedures, including compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA and state regulations.\nMust communicate monthly with the Vice President and Region President regarding progress, issues and process improvement suggestions.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. \nAbility to effectively delegate and direct the work of the spec. gas, operations, fill plant operations and distribution department.\nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, \nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.\nAbility to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.\nMust possess a valid driver’s license.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nMust be a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, be personable, well organized, have the ability to achieve goals and the ability to focus on details.\nTeam player with a positive attitude.\nWilling to improve skills by attending classes and/or operational compliance training on your own time.\nMUST be willing to TRAVEL up to 20% of the time with overnight stays as needed.\nMust have reliable transportation to travel to customer sites.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree (B.
